Enjoy a relaxing break whatever the time of year in this cosy cottage with an abundance of walks from the doorstep and nearby pubs serving hearty meals for young and old.

A walkers paradise in the Peak District National Park with popular traffic free cycle trails, a big hit for anyone wanting a relaxing day exploring on two wheels, and there are plenty of cycle hire shops nearby if you don't want to bring your own. The property is within easy reach of the gorgeous country houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall which are ideal for whiling away an afternoon. The nearby pretty market town of Bakewell lies in the heart of the Peak District National Park and offers a great place for meandering through the various shops, cafes and restaurants, don't forget to stop for a Bakewell Pudding. Critch Tramway village lets you enjoy unlimited tram rides in a recreated village street and is great on rainy days.

Stepping into the cottage brings you to the cosy lounge with comfortable seating, feature fireplace with wood burner which is made for curling up in front of by the TV with a good book and a cup of tea after a day walking the hills. Moving through to the dining room which is bright and airy and provides a lovely space for a celebration dinner. If you don't fancy trying the nearby eateries, why not cook at home and make the most of the facilities which include electric oven and gas hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and washing machine. To the first floor you will find two bedrooms, one double bedroom and one single which share the family bathroom with a shower over the bath.

Outside the cottage is a courtyard area with a table and chairs to sit out and enjoy the summer sun, fully enclosed meaning it’s great for kids and pets. There is no parking directly outside the cottage due to it being on the main village road but a parking area can be found a short walk away.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

We had a great stay, the property is in a great location to explore the Peak District and there was lovely walks from the house. The road at the front of the property can be noisy at times. Thank you!

This was a great cottage in a good location that met our needs and expectations. Well presented, good size, comfortable, suitable for our two dogs. A small challenge was its not ideal for parking your car outside to load and unload although there are good spaces nearby.

Lovely house in a lovely location with unlimited walking and a couple of nice local villages and Matlock town really enjoyed it here will be interested in booking again

Excellent accommodation with secure outside area for our two Huskies. Very cosy and warm cottage with all you need to enjoy a relaxing holiday in beautiful surroundings.

We had a lovely break away with our two dogs. The area was near to lots of walking sites and local,attractions. The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed, along with some nice little touches such as dog treats, dog blankets, local books on walks etc.. I would recommend a stay here. The contact point was extremely helpful and the Read morecottage was like home from home. Hide

Lovely cottage which we found to be very clean and well equipped. Great base location for us to have days out at Chatsworth, The Heights of Abraham, Alton Towers, Bakewell and more.
