Get away from it all to this beautiful former barn which has been lovingly and sympathetically restored and offers stylish family friendly accommodation in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of the splendid North Pennines.

Nestled in a beautiful rural position on a working beef and sheep grassland farm. Guest are welcome to explore the farmland through the established tracks and help feed the lambs. The farm is located in the stunning North Pennines, perfect for all outdoor pursuits and is located directly on the coast to coast famous Waskerley Way. Fisherman will also be delighted with the nearby Waskerley and Derwent Reservoirs. Golfers can enjoy an array of local courses including the renowned course at Slaley Hall. Visit the nearby picture post card village of Blanchland. Explore the World Heritage site of Hadrian’s Wall or travel a little further afield and visit the historic towns of Hexham and Corbridge.

Entering the property through to the light and bright stylish lounge area with TV/DVD and wood burner effect electric fire, ideal for cosy nights in. Next is the snug area great fun for all the family with, TV, board games and books to enjoy. This room is followed by the well-quipped kitchen/diner with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and dining area perfect for family gatherings. Completing the ground floor is the utility room with washing machine and rear door access to the garden and the separate WC. Heading up the stairs to the first floor you are met with the lovely master double bedroom with en-suite shower and WC, followed by the super-king-size zip-and link (which can be made into a twin on request). Next is the stylish, spacious bathroom with bath, separate shower and WC. Finally, competing the accommodation is the light and bright twin bedroom.

Venturing outside to the gravelled seating areas with picnic table and charcoal BBQ, ideal for al fresco dining and to enjoy the views over the beautiful countryside, perhaps with a good local ale or a nice glass of wine. There is also an abundance of wildlife and birds that visit the garden, such as barn owls, little owls, short/long eared owls, red kites and woodpeckers . There is ample off-road parking available directly at the rear of the property.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This cottage is set in a fantastic location if you are looking for peace and quiet and wonderful views this is the place. The accommodation itself has everything we needed it was comfortable and warm with plenty of space for the 5 of us. The owners were very welcoming and if we did need anything they were more than happy to go above and beyond!!

This cottage is simply stunning. Its location is picturesque and peaceful. The owners Simon and Diane live next door and they are very friendly and welcoming. Just returned from a week in Pennine Byre. The cottage was a delight - spotlessly clean and well equipped, and in a stunning location on a working moorland farm. This was our second stay at this beautiful peaceful location. Hopefully not our last,, Diane and Simon are perfect hosts. Cycling and walking very accessible. So many historic sites to visit nearby. Both cottages are well appointed.

This is the best cottage we have ever stayed in (and that's a lot). The facilities are fantastic but avoid if you want a noisy holiday, it is peaceful and set in a gorgeous location. The owners, Diane & Simon, are the nicest, friendliest people you will ever meet. We had a lovely few days driving round and exploring the North East from our base at The Byre. The weather was shocking so we didn't walk far, but the area looks lovely for walking. The hosts are welcoming and friendly. We had a comfortable stay and could have happily stayed for longer.

Pennine Byre was superb for our week away. Diane and Simon are warm and welcoming hosts to their comfortable, well equiped and quiet cottage. We had a wonderful time at Pennines Byre! The dcor is homely and stylish, and the cottage was spotless. The hosts, Diane and Simon, were super friendly and helpful! We had a fantastic holiday and found the accommodation comfortable, clean and homely. The farm felt remote and quiet but accessible to main roads within a short 5 minute drive. Diane and Simon are lovely hosts and were available at all times, even for a friendly chat. I would definitely go again and would recommend it to anyone.

The cottage is in a beautiful location which feels very remote but in fact is only a mile and a half off the main A68 road. The cottage is warm, comfortable and excellent quality, with very friendly hosts.
