Occupying a hillside setting in private grounds, this property is surrounded by beautiful countryside, through which many footpaths can be taken, making it an ideal location for families and dogs alike. A few miles away, the village of Sidbury was one of the earliest settlements in Devon and boasts an iron age fort, popular pub and shop. Take to the nearby Jurassic Coast, which spans 95 miles of the Dorset coastline, encompassing popular beaches including Beer, Branscombe and Sidmouth and offering wonderful walks. Other local attractions include the nearby cathedral city of Exeter, the caves at Beer, Bicton Gardens and the Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth.

Inside, this charming property has been beautifully finished to retain a host of original features including exposed beams and stonework and high vaulted ceilings. The downstairs accommodation is open plan; a step up to the large kitchen to the rear of the property featuring oak floorboards, exposed beams overhead and a long dining table is ideal for entertaining. In the kitchen, you will find a gas oven and hob, fridge with ice compartment, microwave, feature original Belfast sink and dishwasher, while a shared utility room in an external outbuilding houses the washing machine and shared freezer space. Once you have finished your meal, settle down for the evening to enjoy the Smart TV  in the lounge area, where a wood burner sits against a feature exposed brick wall and French doors open out to the magnificent views. At the end of a long day, step upstairs to the cosy mezzanine floor where there is one super king-size and two single beds, ideal for couples or families. This room is accessed via a steep staircase and features a reduced height ceiling lined with charming oak beams. The wet room with WC is located on the ground floor.

French doors open from the lounge area to an elevated decked terrace with seating and spectacular views over the valley and woodland below. While adults relax with a drink and take in the scenery, younger guests and dogs can take the steps down to the grassed area below to make the most of the enclosed lawn below

Excellent, well appointed and presented barn conversion. Had everything that we needed and was VERY peaceful and relaxing. Perfect for dogs who all seemed to love being there.

The cottage was great all the utensils to make any dish you care to think of. Lovely big TV for the night time of weather not to Good. Really comfortable bed nice decking looking over a small valley with cows,deer amongst other animals.and loads of birds singing. We had a lovely relaxing time, the setting of the barn is beautiful quiet countryside which is just what we hoped for. The hosts were ver accommodating when I made a mistake on our booking. We would definitely stay there again.

Fantastic location for exploring east Devon Barn has fabulous views and so peaceful. Only negative thing was the steep stairs up to the bedroom which wouldn't suit anyone with limited mobility.

A really peaceful location with stunning views from the enclosed terrace.We saw lots of bird life and it was a wonderful place to eat lunch! Our dogs were very happy too in the enclosed garden! The Barn was very comfortable with all the amenities you could ask for and an amazing bed!We had a really lovely week!

Very much enjoyed our stay at Sweetcombe Barn. The property was very warm and comfortable - although you need to be fit to cope with the stairs, which were steep. The location couldn't be bettered, and it was only the poor weather which prevented us from taking full advantage of the terrace, with wonderful views, outside the patio doors. Fantastic cottage. Great range of equipment. Means you can cook anything. Great location for dogs. We have a very elderly dog who struggled with the garden steps. Other two were fine with them. The location is lovely with local wildlife in abundance. Place was very clean and fresh.

The perfect hideaway from busy lives. Nestled on a beautiful hillside with woodland to walk in, The Barn is clean, comfortable and cosy. You are 10-15 mins drive from Branscombe, Beer and Seaton which are all pretty seaside villages/towns. A delightful cottage in a lovely setting. It is very comfortable with all you need. However take care on the steep stairs The enclosed garden is great for dogs, but one end has a wire fence adjoining a field which does have cattle in it at times. Honiton is close for supermarkets but if you want to eat out the Hare and Hounds at Putts Corner can beRead more thoroughly recommended. Absolutely wonderful time and weather was encountered while visiting this cottage. Dogs absolutely loved the garden. Beware the stairs to the mezzanine are very steep and narrow so maybe not suitable for people with mobility issues. You get to see cows wandering past the garden looking for greener pastures. No smart TV so limited tv channels to watRead morech in the evening. Visit Lyme Regis beach, it is gorgeous. Hide

This is a truly lovely spot. The barn was great. Lovely and roomy. Well stocked with pots and pans and the like. There was even a bowl of water waiting for the dogs. The views are lovely whether on the upper deck or in the garden. If you are up early enough, you may well see the deer coming to call whilst in the garden with your first cuppa. Absolutely beautiful barn, everything I could hope for. Clean ,comfortable with a beautiful view from the terrace. The garden was perfect for the dogs. The night skies on a clear night were amazing as was the sounds of the birds in the morning. Loved every moment.
