Set out on foot through the countryside to reach the pretty village of Castle Cary, only a 15-minute walk away. Here you will find a quaint selection of shops together with a museum. Visit the Newt with its picturesque gardens, ancient woodland, restaurant and shop, During your stay, don’t miss a trip to historical Bath, the country’s smallest city of Wells or iconic Glastonbury. Other attractions include Clarks Village, Wookey Hole Caves, Cheddar Gorge and Longleat House and Safari Park.

The bright and spacious accommodation is open-plan and well laid out to make use of all the space provided. The modern kitchen area is perfect for entertaining with plenty of surface space. Here you will find an electric oven, halogen hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee machine and washing machine. Enjoy family meals at the dining table nearby before relaxing beside the electric effect woodburner on the comfortable sofas in the lounge area beyond. With a TV, Xbox, DVD player, iPod dock and hi-fi, this area provides plenty of entertainment whatever the weather. There is also a ground floor bedroom with a king-size bed, wooden flooring, an en-suite shower room and patio doors opening onto the parking area. The bathroom is also located on the ground floor and boasts a feature roll-top bath and separate shower. Upstairs on the first floor a super-king size bedroom, which can be made into a twin on request, is a cosy room with vaulted ceilings and a TV/DVD. Also on the first floor is a small twin room with low sloping ceilings.

Outside there is a private enclosed garden with raised beds, a patio area with seating and BBQ, ideal for enjoying al fresco meals with a view.

A lovely home from home with everything we could have needed for a comfortable stay. Owners were near by if you needed them but not intrusive. We had two dogs with us and there was no shortage of dog friendly places to visit. Sherborne Castle was just 25 minutes away with beautiful grounds to walk around. A guided tour of the old prison in Shepton Read moreMallet was something different to do and great fun. Highly recommend the food at the George Hotel and the Orchard Inn. Thanks for a great holiday! Attractive property in a quiet area, although there is a busy road which runs behind the garden. The owner is available and was happy to answer any of our questions. Lovely spacious accommodation in a great location. Convenient for numerous National Trust properties and towns and villages. Very well equipped and spacious. We had dreadful weather most of the week so spent more time inside than usual and the comfortable accommodation was very welcome. The perfect place to set up base camp in Somerset. Set right in the middle of the key locations such as Longleat, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole. The cottage was excellent and full of character. Inst6ructions on how everything worked were easily to hand - and having the "owner" on site meant that any questions/niggles could be sorted out immediately (not that we had any problems).

Superb holiday we were two couples, very spacious cottage, comfortable sofas, very comfortable beds. We visited Frome, Sherborne, Frome, Wells and Shaftesbury, we walked to Castle Carey several times and ate in the Bay Tree pub, we also walked to the local Orchard Inn Pub a couple of times, both very friendly with delicious food. The beds were comfy and clean the cottage was clean and homely a good base in a great location, 1 HR from durdle door and less than 1 HR to Bath. We had a wonderful week!

This is a lovely spacious house, clean and well equipped with kind and thoughtful hosts. Lovely touch to leave us cookies and milk and local cider and eggs, thank you! Beds were really comfy. We would come back again! Although in close and full view of the main house, we didnt feel overlooked.

A friendly, family run cottage in the heart of rural Somerset. Perfect for recharging the batteries and forgetting the world. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

The cottage was great. The facilities were good, plenty of space and everything thing was clean. Wi-fi worked well, the TV was a good standard. Plenty of hot water and the kitchen had all the facilities that you would expect. On site parking was good. We met the owner who lived next door and she was very nice. It is a small lovely cottage with enough space for 6 people. Particularly noteworthy are the two bathrooms, which were really large. The kitchen is equipped with everything you could possibly need and there is a Morrison only 10 minutes away in Wincaton. The only downside is that the downstairs bedroom only has a large sliding door and no window. IRead moref you open the sliding doors in the living room and bedroom, then you can enjoy the cat cheekily popping in to say hello. Its TOP! Hide

What a lovely peaceful place to stay. Lovely rear garden and big field for our dog to run. Loved the complimentary bottle of cider and eggs left for us on arrival. Loved the fact that we could travel east or west about 40 miles to the seaside. There is plenty to do and plenty places to go. Thinking of going down there again, Loved it.

Fantastic place to stay with some wonderful villages nearby. Our young boys loved the toys provided by the owners and we really appreciated the beautiful cot that was ready for us on arrival. Highly recommend and would stay again
