Set within easy walking distance of all the village amenities and attractions. Hawkshead is proud of its heritage and links to William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are both situated within five miles of the property and offer plenty of opportunities for boat rides, water sports and scenic walks around their shores. Grizedale Forest, just up the Lane from the cottage, offers way-marked walking and biking trails, a sculpture trail, Segway hire and a Go-Ape climbing centre. Guests access this property up the stone steps and into the welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge has some lovely original features, including exposed beams and traditional cast iron range with open fire (please note, the fire is no longer in use), comfortable sofas and Smart TV. In the dining area there is a table for four at the window. The bright kitchen area offers everything that guests will need to prepare their favourite meals, including an Aga electric oven and gas hob, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. From the lounge/kitchen/diner is a door to the lower ground floor where you will find the large utility area containing a freezer and washer/dryer, ample space for all your outdoor gear and storage of bikes. On this floor you will also find a shower room with WC. After a busy day head up to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms, the spacious romantic king-size and a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request). A bright bathroom with roll-top bath and WC completes the first floor.

Lovely old cottage in the centre of Hawkshead. Great central location to explore the lakes. Didnt need to travel in the car much as there are so many lovely walks from and around the village with great pubs and restaurants.

The cottage is great for a Lake District holiday. The equipment is really good, good quality pans and appliances. The basement area is fantastic for washing or dealing with wet/muddy clothes after a walk. The beds are very comfy, and separate bath and shower room with powerful shower are great for family of two adults and two children. A lovely quiet cottage, well laid out with some quirky sloping wooden floors. Great location and the free parking pass was a lovely touch. However the pictures are deceiving and the shower room was very disappointing . Poorly lit( gloomy) with a broken shower door and mould around the tray. No proper furniture to hang your clothes and definitely a problem if 4 people were staying ... second room has nothing at all! Lovely olde worlde cottage in the heart of Hawkshead village. Very traditional Lakes cottage feel to it and like stepping back in time but very quaint. It was just the 2 of us and our Labradoodle dog Dougie. He made himself very much at home and the downstairs area was a good asset to use after a muddy walk to give him his wash.
