Set within easy walking distance of all the village amenities and attractions. Hawkshead is proud of its heritage and links to William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter. Lake Windermere and Coniston Water are both situated within five miles of the property and offer plenty of opportunities for boat rides, water sports and scenic walks around their shores. Grizedale Forest, just up the Lane from the cottage, offers way-marked walking and biking trails, a sculpture trail, Segway hire and a Go-Ape climbing centre. The real bonus of this cottage is its central location, which means guests can explore Hawkshead's historic, cobbled yards and its surrounding countryside without ever using the car.
Guests access this property up the stone steps and into the welcoming open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge has some lovely original features, including exposed beams and traditional cast iron range with open fire (please note, the fire is no longer in use), comfortable sofas and Smart TV. In the dining area there is a table for four at the window. The bright kitchen area offers everything that guests will need to prepare their favourite meals, including an Aga electric oven and gas hob, fridge, microwave, and dishwasher. From the lounge/kitchen/diner is a door to the lower ground floor where you will find the large utility area containing a freezer and washer/dryer, ample space for all your outdoor gear and storage of bikes. On this floor you will also find a shower room with WC. After a busy day head up to the first floor where you will find two bedrooms, the spacious romantic king-size and a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request). A bright bathroom with roll-top bath and WC completes the first floor.
A parking permit for one car is provided for guests, for use in the village’s main car park.
