Symonds Yat West sits to the edge of the River Wye, enjoying views across the river to the home of the Symonds Yat Rock, one of the major attractions within the Wye Valley. You are well served with access to pubs, restaurants, the maze, butterfly zoo and oriental gardens, along with boat trips and canoe hire. You can cross the water via the foot ferry giving access to the rock where you can climb the 120 metres to enjoy the views or why not follow the river along the Wye Valley foot path, or the Offa’s Dyke for a little more rugged scenery. Visit the Forest of Dean, explore the woodland and the family cycle trail that guides you through a mixed terrain of lakes, sculptures and rich forests.

Take in the views across the River Wye and valley before you step into this traditional cottage, the snug offers a warm welcome with comfortable sofas fronting the wood burner and TV/DVD, providing a perfect space for you to hide away. The lounge is situated to the front of the cottage enjoying views across the valley, a spacious room with sofas and chairs where you can get together to enjoy a good movie on the large 4K TV or gaming on the Xbox. The kitchen/diner provides a contemporary twist with fine lines of black work tops and white cabinets, well-equipped with gas oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. The dining area is open-plan with a large table that will accommodate eight guests. Completing the ground floor is a shower room with shower and WC, here you will also find a utility area with washing machine. So, when the day is done climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find four bedrooms, a double room with views over the valley, a further double also with great views, a twin bedroom and a super-king-size zip-and-link (which can be made up as a twin on request at the point of booking). There is also a bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Step outside to the gardens which surround the cottage, with a brick BBQ and seating area where you can relax and enjoy the views. There is off-road parking for two cars.

I would definitely recommend Quarry Cottage if you want a great place to stay in Symonds Yat. Everything is in the cottage that you would need for a great time.

Our party of six enjoyed a stay at Quarry Cottage for a birthday weekend. It has ample space for that many, plenty of comfortable seating, bedrooms are generous and everything is clean and easy to find, two ovens! The cottage has Freesat and an Xbox, so there was lots of entertainment available in the evenings after a day out, while the dogs slept Read moreoff long walks, wifi is strong and phone signal decent. Lovely comfortable cottage which easily accommodated 5 adults, 2 toddlers, a child and a large dog. Lovely walks in local area and a lovely friendly pub nearby. We all really enjoyed our stay.

Cottage was good , clean and comfortable with good facilities . Would be great if there could be some arrangement with the carpark over the road for users of quarry cottage and parking was tricky

What a wonderful cottage! The cottage was the perfect space to celebrate a family birthday in comfort amid beautiful scenery. Lovely and clean, loads of crockery, cutlery and glasses for bubbly, beer and water. We have made wonderful memories, thank you.

The cottage was lovely and the location perfect. We walked regularly from the cottage door which was great. I would highly recommend the pub just a few minutes walk down towards the river. Great food! We had a few niggles about the cottage. It was a little tired and needs a good deep clean and maintaince review. The garden isn't enclosed at all whiRead morech means dogs can wander if not closely watched. The driveway is fine and we managed to fit 3 cars on. Over all it suited our needs. Hide

Very nice property in a good position, pub only a few minutes walk. The property was equipped very well. I understand what people were saying about the driveway, it does take some getting used to. I wish the front garden was fully enclosed, we had to keep dogs on their leads.

A large, comfortable cottage in a great location a few minutes walk from a very good pub. Good views over the valley and lovely walks all around. Good village shop a mile away.

Lovely location for visiting the area. Cottage is comfortable and well equipped. Parking is a little tricky but you soon get used to it. Plenty of space for two cars, three if they are not too big.

We had a lovely stay over Christmas- having the wood burner with a chimney for Santa was great. The cottage is perfect for a family stay; a large porch for boots, utility room with an extra fridge (and freezer) saved the day and we had some great walks along the river. Very nice and spacious cottage, there is everything you need to feel comfortable! We came as 4 adults and 4 kids including a toddler, and we had all the space needed. The location is great too, we were able to get quickly on pretty walks nearby, take the hand ferry to the pub etc..
