Centrally located in this picture-postcard Swaledale village with award winning pub, shops, craft gallery and tea rooms. Bramble Bottom offers the perfect space for a special celebration, a great base for a walking or cycling holiday or simply a gathering of family or friends.

The idyllic village of Muker is surrounded by breath-taking scenery and overlooks the beautiful River Swale. The cottage is ideally situated for walkers and cyclists exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District a little further afield (35 miles). Enjoy a cream tea in the local tea rooms, visit Swaledale Woollens where local ladies hand knit beautiful items and have a browse in the excellent Craft Gallery. Keep your ears open for the Muker Silver Band practising in the Literary Institute opposite the cottage each Monday and Friday evening. Relax in the award-winning Farmers Arms pub with its open fire, great pub food and real ales - you'll have to drag yourself away! Muker also has a charming village store and tea room, serving delicious home made scones, cakes and Yorkshire Rarebit.

The nearby village of Reeth (10 miles) is home to the Swaledale Museum and the Ice Cream parlour. The bustling town of Hawes is (6 miles) home to the Wensleydale Creamery and the Dales Countryside Museum. This part of the Dales is renowned for spectacular springtime wildflower meadows and features some fabulous walks and bike rides. The Swaledale and Arkengarthdale Dales Trail is a circular route to be done in a car or a bike and is a great introduction to this area. The Swale Trail is a specific bike trail from Grinton (near Reeth) to Keld (around 12 miles long) and is suitable for all ages and abilities. You can even hire electric bikes from the Dales Bike Centre in Grinton.

This delightful period cottage has been beautifully transformed into a very special holiday home with quirky upside down accommodation. On entering, head to the second floor where you will find a light and spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The large and cosy lounge offers plenty of seating, a warming wood burner, Smart TV, DVD, CD and Bluetooth sound bar. YoFu can all sit down to a fantastic meal around the grand solid oak dining table, and the stylish and fully-equipped kitchen is perfect for rustling up something special. Please note the property does not have a washing machine, though laundry facilities can be used by appointment at Swaledale House (2.5 miles). Heading downstairs you will find five charming bedrooms divided between the East Wing and the West Wing, each of which has been styled according to a Swaledale theme. The West Wing has two bedrooms: the Waterfalls Room on the first floor, and the Tour de France Room on the ground floor, each with a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room with WC. Heading over to the East Wing you will find three further bedrooms. On the first floor there's the Meadows Room, the bed in here can be made up as a super king-size zip-and-link or a twin room. Next door is the Swaledale Sheep Room. The bed in here can be made up as either two singles or a super king-size. These rooms share a family bathroom which features a shower over the bath and a WC. Finally, on the ground floor is the Heather Room, with a king-size bed and an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower and WC.

Stepping outside, you can admire the views of the village and the River Swale. To the rear of the property is a charming sheltered stone patio with garden furniture, boasting lovely views over the village green.  The garage provides lockable storage for bikes.

Lovely holiday cottage in a great spot in Muker. Excellent for a couple of families to share as each can have a "wing" of the cottage to themselves. Received a warm welcome from the owner with lots of helpful information and it was very well equipped.
