An exquisite quaint barn conversion tucked away in the breathtaking Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a truly tranquil getaway for two in a romantic countryside setting.

This luxury escape sits within a small hamlet, surrounded by stunning countryside and pretty villages boasting quaint cafes, welcoming pubs and walking trails aplenty. Perfectly situated to explore the Howardian Hills and the North York Moors National Park, you can expect breathtaking scenery as far as the eye can see as you uncover this beautiful part of the country. The nearby village of Hovingham (3 miles) is home to a couple of traditional pubs and a wonderful tea room you can visit during your stay. Head 4 miles south to stop by the award-winning lavender farm, home to a deer, a sculpture park and quaint tea room. What's more, you are 17 miles from the medieval city of York and all of its delightful attractions.

 

This romantic cottage ticks all the boxes when it comes to interiors, location and charm; the perfect choice for couples looking to enjoy a stylish countryside escape. Step inside to discover an elegant open-plan living space, home to the lounge, kitchen and dining area. The cosy lounge boasts a stylish wood burner to curl up beside during the colder months, so you can sink into the plush sofa and truly unwind. The compact dining/kitchen area comes fully-equipped with all the amenities you'll require to rustle up and enjoy some home cooking with fresh produce you've picked up from the nearby market towns. Following a day of discovery, retreat to the surprisingly spacious and undeniably romantic bedroom, decorated in a French style to create a plush space to recharge. The bedroom enjoys an en-suite shower room with walk-in shower, a perfect start to the day.

 

Outside, you will find a generous garden boasting a lawn and pretty flower beds. During the summer months, throw out a picnic blanket and bask in the Yorkshire sunshine, or sit back and relax on the sun loungers. There's also a mini orchard with plum and apple trees to wander around, as well as a 7ft herb garden of which guests are welcome to dip into when cooking up a storm with local produce. If you're lucky, you might spot some wildlife in the surrounding area. The cottage offers off-road parking.

The accommodation is bijou but the owners have carefully designed and created within the accommodation something that provides all one's needs quite brilliantly. In addition, they add, again very thoughtfully, a personal touch of 'goodies' All are well conceived and plentiful and something that really provides warmth and care and promises a super sRead moretart to the stay. Gingerlily was a warm, cosy cottage in an excellent location for visiting York, Harrogate, the Moors and the coast. Would highly recommend and would love to visit again.

Beautiful, well equipped, comfortable cottage with an amazing tranquil garden and superb off road private gated parking. Set in a stunning part of Yorkshire and surrounded by nature. Welcome pack was the best we have ever had. Came away feeling completely relaxed and chilled.

This is a really beautiful little cottage. Well supplied with the kitchen essentials. It was a really nice bonus that the tv had Netflix it meant we coo ooo old watch films in the evening. Gingerlily is small but perfectly formed - comfortable, cosy and with everything you need. We loved the thoughtful welcome treats! Returned again (4th time now) for a weeks stay after lockdown. Great place to get away from it all, lots of villages & National Trust places to enjoy, and a log burner to enjoy when the weather let us down. Well equipped, comfortable and very thoughtful additions - dont think twice, youll be very well catered for here!

This is a gorgeous cottage in a lovely setting with beautiful views. The level of comfort is excellent with quality furnishings and great attention to detail. Just returned from a very relaxing break at GIngerlily. The cottage is small but comfortable, well equipped, clean and ideal for a short stay for two. Great location and well equipped holiday cottage where you instantly feel at home in. Great garden space which the dogs loved to play in and we enjoyed having a morning brew sat outdoors. Location great for walking and cycling and close to great visit the sites of Yorkshire.

Beautiful cottage for couples with everything required for a relaxing, romantic break. The garden was gorgeous too. We loved watching the woodpecker, rabbits and squirrels. Owners also provided a lovely welcome hamper (the homemade raspberry gin was very moreish). Gingerlily is definitely one to return to. A credit to its owners.

The cottage was absolutely beautiful, we especially loved the fireplace and the fact that it had a secure garden for our dog. The owners really went the extra mile with the welcome basket, such a wonderful touch.

This was the perfect holiday cottage. It was rural but still near to the local village. The cottage itself was just lovely...a lot of thought had gone into the decor and the owners have created a cosy, inviting space. We will definitely be returning to Gingerlily Cottage in the near future.

The cottage is located in an idyllic situation. It is immaculate in every sense. The garden is magnificent and proved safe for our two Jack Russell Terriers. Even under Covid 19 restrictions we found places to eat and drink and visit. If you like historic houses and country walks this is an ideal choice!
