Welcome to a quintessentially English country cottage with chocolate-box good looks in a beautiful village location, absolutely perfect for honeymoons and romantic escapes with your loved one. If you closed your eyes and pictured the perfect holiday home, we're pretty sure it would look something like this. Set in a beautiful walled garden, the immaculate double-fronted stone cottage is like something from a fairytale.

This gorgeous cottage is set on the borders of North Yorkshire and County Durham so you are well placed to explore the delights of both counties. The pretty village of Whorlton makes a perfect base for exploring the North Pennines (10 miles) and the Yorkshire Dales (15 miles) as well visit the village pub. There are numerous walks to enjoy, including the Teesdale Way, or you can admire the landscapes of Swaledale (17 miles) and Arkengarthdale (16 miles). The charming town of Barnard Castle (4 miles) features a host of boutique shops, pubs and cafes as well as the Bowes Museum and a 12th-century castle with stunning views. You could also visit Richmond (13 miles) with its cobbled market square and the medieval Richmond Castle. Heading a little further afield you can discover the historic city of Durham (24 miles).

Step inside the sage green door to discover a stunning contemporary holiday home with character at every turn. Boasting beautiful flagstone floors with underfloor heating throughout, the open-plan living area is home to the lounge, kitchen and dining area. At the heart of this room is a fantastic stone inglenook fireplace, with a cosy wood burner sitting inside. All wood and kindling for the burner are also provided for you. There's a large and comfortable sofa complete with a cosy throw, perfect for curling up on together whilst watching a film. There's Netflix, a DVD player and Wi-Fi included. The kitchen sits to the rear of the cottage: an elegant and well-thought-out out space with glossy work-tops and contemporary units. A dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine and built in hob/oven are included. A separate utility to the rear of the cottage houses a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer. You'll find the cupboards well-stocked with crockery and utensils - everything you'll need to rustle up a romantic dinner for two. There's also a welcome hamper waiting for you on arrival. The dining area sits next to the fire, a lovely spot whatever the time of day. The heated flagstone flooring continues into the bedroom, which is a peaceful and romantic room featuring a king-size bed dressed in the finest luxury bedding. What a joy waking up in this beautiful room, knowing there's no rush to get out of bed. The bathroom is situated next door. Again, with heated flagstone flooring and there is a walk-in shower as well as a separate bath in here, so plenty of candle-lit soaks with a glass of bubbly in hand!

Outside the cottage, there's the traditional English walled garden to enjoy. A patio area to the front comes complete with outdoor furniture for those long lazy lunches in the sun. There is also a paved area to the rear of the cottage which has its own bistro table and chairs which is the perfect spot for a morning coffee, or perhaps an afternoon tipple. The separate utility to the rear of the cottage is ideal for storing muddy boots after a hike across the Dales or for storing bikes if cycling is your thing.

This was a perfect chocolate box cottage, it even had roses round the door. Everything you could possibly need was included. The village was really lovely with a great pub on our doorstep, we ate there one night and the food was delicious. Plenty to do in the area, lots of beautiful walks, waterfalls and castles to visit. Rosemary cottage was extremely comfortable, clean and well-equiped. Perfect to relax in after long walks in Teesdale. Cosy comfortable cottage for two in a quiet location. Good base to explore from. Cottage stocked with enough equipment for a long or short stay. Thanks Daisy for the hamper and cake. This is a beautiful cottage, amply equipped with just about everything you might need. There are beautiful touches everywhere - the owner clearly has an eye for detail and was available by phone/email if I needed anything (which I didn't). We had a lovely relaxing stay at Rosemary cottage, it is just the right size for two with everything you need in the kitchen and a generous welcome hamper. Barnard castle is a short drive or walk along the river with lots of tea rooms and antique shops it is a great place to spend the day.

The cottage is surprisingly spacious. It has everything that you would need for a comfortable holiday. Plenty of extra space in the shed for storage. We had a tandem and a bike as well as two suitcases and there was still plenty of room. There is good walking from the doorstep, including a lovely walk along the river into Barnard Castle. Rosemary Cottage is beautiful, well equipped and with a lovely garden. We had a lovely peaceful week there, with excellent walks from the door. The surrounding countryside is outstanding and there are are plenty of tea-rooms & pubs to eat in.

The cottage is absolutely divine. It is beautifully presented, spotless, comfortable and cosy with lots of thoughtful touches. It is so convenient to Barnard Castle and within an easy drive of many points of interest. There are a number of splendid walks nearby. The neighbours are lovely too.

This cottage was in a beautiful quiet village, the neighbours are really friendly. Cottage was spotlessly clean and the welcome pack was a lovely addition and a lovely cake too. There are some lovely places to visit that are only about an hour away. Of all the places we have stayed this by far is THE BEST. It is perfection. Spotlessly clean, crisp fresh bed linen, big fluffy towels. Quality cutlery, cooking utensils and crockery. The fire was laid and ready to light. Daisy thought of EVERYTHING to make our stay wonderful and memorable. She made us a Vegan cake and left cruelty free milk, spreaRead mored, treats and bread in a hamper for us. An excellent bottle of Pinot Grigio was chilled for our arrival. Rosemary Cottage is beautiful and had everything we needed for a perfect stay in Teesdale. Rosemary Cottage far exceeded our expectations. It is one of the very nicest places we have stayed and we travel a lot. I think what lifts it above many other holiday cottages, however luxurious and well equipped, is the absolute thoughtfulness of the owners. The cottage had kerb appeal from the moment we drew up and inside did not disappoint either. It was welcoming, spotlessly clean, very well equipped and very comfortable. The lovely hamper was much appreciated too. Also the surrounding area offered many lovely walks - but best of all was returning to the cottage after each excursion.
