Set in glorious open countryside in Teesdale, this stunning barn conversion has been designed to cater for larger groups looking to get together and celebrate in beautiful surroundings.

Set in the heart of County Durham and on the outskirts of the North Pennines (4 miles), there are some great walks nearby, with the Yorkshire Dales (14 miles) also within easy reach. You can explore three local reservoirs and the High and Low Force waterfalls in Hamsterley Forest (10 miles). There are plenty of great places to eat and drink, and you could head to the charming market town of Barnard Castle (5.5 miles) with its host of boutique shops, cafes and pubs, as well as the Bowes Museum and the castle itself. Other attractions include Egglestone Hall (3 miles), Raby Castle (11 miles) and Auckland Castle (17.5 miles). The lovely town of Richmond (20.5 miles) is also nearby.


On entering this outstanding property, you will find a dramatic and generous entrance hall with a feature chandelier and sweeping staircase. Heated Yorkshire flagstones underfoot provide a warm welcome. The hall leads you through to the beautiful open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, a wonderful living space with exposed stone walls, underfloor heating, oak trusses and vaulted ceilings. There are two light and spacious lounge areas – one with a cosy wood burner and comfortable seating, and one with access to the Smart TV with Netflix. There's also a Bluetooth speaker and a selection of board games. You will also find a fabulous dining area with a table seating 10, perfect for any family celebration. The striking kitchen is equipped with a sleek quartz worktop and breakfast bar area, as well as an induction hob, two ovens, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and two wine fridges. The washing machine is housed in the hallway cupboard. Exploring the ground floor further, you will find the first two bedrooms, each with king-size beds and TVs. These rooms can also be configured as twin rooms on prior request. The first room features an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath, while the second has an en-suite shower room. There is also a wet room with WC on the ground floor. Going upstairs there are three further bedrooms, all with TVs and en-suite shower rooms. There are two king-size rooms and a twin room.


Stepping outside, there's a large flagstone terrace enclosed by traditional stone walling and with amazing views over the River Tees and the Teesdale Way. There's plenty of outdoor furniture including a private hot tub so you can sit back and enjoy the day. A BBQ is provided, and there's a useful outside tap for washing down bikes, muddy dogs and boots. Secure bike storage is provided.

A stunning barn convervion where no expense has been spared. Extremely comfortably and well equiped with the owners providing a generous welcome pack making the stay even more special. Amazing views with lovely walks and plenty to do in the surrounding area. Part of the road down to the accommodation was a bumpy cart track in desparate need of repaRead moreir. Skyline is an amazing, well designed, well furnished, well maintained and comfortable property. 10 of us had a brilliant weekend and had no complaints. The views down and across the Tees Valley and over to Cotherstone from the outside area and hot tub were fantastic - especially as we had all the autumn colours on show. The cottage was excellent, good space and all bedrooms to a high standard which was good for a large group of adults. The feedback we can offer is that we needed a couple of small essentials; washing up liquid and hand soap in all the bathrooms and kitchen. I am aware there may be little you can do about it, but the access road desperately needs woRead morerk. Or a firm warning when booking to bring a car with as high clearance as possible. We have stayed in many cottages on holiday but Skyline was by far the best. The location was fantastic with great views and so peaceful. The barn was immaculately clean and fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. All of the furniture, soft furnishings, bed linen, towels, crockery was of a very high standard. This is beautiful, and quality barn conversion. A real getaway from it all. Great walks to Cotherstone (1m), Barnard Castle (2.5m) and Romaldkirk (3m) where there are good pubs, shops and eating places.
