Trails lead in every direction, with several beautiful waterfalls to discover including Thomason Foss and Mallyan Spout (both within a mile). The village is on the beautiful North York Moors Railway which leads through the stunning countryside to the pretty market town of Pickering (14.5 miles) and the popular coastal town of Whitby (9.5 miles). This charming single-level holiday home has been tastefully decorated and retains original features including exposed beams, heavy stone sills and traditionally rendered plasterwork. The light and welcoming lounge/diner features comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a cosy wood burner. Heading into the stylish shaker-style kitchen you will find it fully equipped with a washing machine, microwave, coffee maker, ceramic hob and oven. The well-equipped kitchen cupboards offer a selection of high-quality utensils, crockery and glassware for the cooks among you. Exploring further, there's a gorgeous bedroom with a double bed, a cast-iron roll-top bath and an en-suite shower room complete with a walk-in shower and WC.

To the front of the cottage is a large enclosed wild grass and alpine garden. To the rear of the cottage, you will find a private dining area with views across the woodland and over the wildlife pond, and you may even spot roe deer or barn owls. This area features an outdoor wood burner, a swinging bench and a BBQ. Secure storage is available for bikes, and there's ample off-road parking available. It was a really lovely cottage, warm cosy and comfortable. Really relaxed there. Loved it! Goathland itself needs a really good bakery though, with fresh milk....and a couple of good shops!

The Bull Pen was beautiful. Cozy, well kept, clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The owners Claire and Chris, were very welcoming and always had time for a chat when we met them on the farm. The cottage is quiet and peaceful and the gardens were beautiful. We will definitely be returning and would definitely recommend to anyoneRead more. The 'heartbeat village' is in walking distance and the tea room is lovely for a cuppa and cake! The standard was first class. If anything, it would be helpful to include the distance from the property to the nearest pub/ hotel which was 10 mins walking time.

A lovely cottage for two with fine views of the North York Moors. Located on a small farm, was peaceful with two outdoor areas. Loved all the wild animals: barn owl, deer, hedgehogs and lots of different birds. Great location for walking, access to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Goathland, also the coast.
