The standard was first class. If anything, it would be helpful to include the distance from the property to the nearest pub/ hotel which was 10 mins walking time.

A lovely cottage for two with fine views of the North York Moors. Located on a small farm, was peaceful with two outdoor areas. Loved all the wild animals: barn owl, deer, hedgehogs and lots of different birds. Great location for walking, access to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway at Goathland, also the coast.

It is exactly as described, the owners could not have been more helpful. The log fire brought a lovely warm feeling to the evenings, the kitchen was very well equipped, the bed was extremely comfortable, the bath was not used but the shower etc were excellent quality. The cottage was extremely easy to find and is part of the farm buildings but you Read moreretain a separation as the actual cottage is behind a gate, and it has at the front and rear its own private garden area. Sadly early November was not the time to try out the external seating area with wood burning stove. Thats for another time . It was beautifully silent, it had a stillness that you are hoping to find. The TV and reception and Internet were excellent for those needing the thrill of modern communication at all times. That was me by the way !The Mallyon Spout hotel offers excellent food at very reasonable prices and the village shop caters for most needs, the latter is a 10 minute walk the former in the winter is a drive away at the other end if the village. Places to visit, Whitby, Camp Eden, Helmsley, Yorks Arboretum, Pickering local life museum by the station, White Swan pub hotel in Pickering for Tapas. The Goathland pub is a bit of a trek, ok during the day but at night its a bit dark !!!All in all 5 stars accommodation and experience.
