The location of this cottage is simply magical – sat on the edge of Goathland, it is a village you may well recognise as the setting for the TV series Heartbeat, with a train station that doubles as ‘Hogsmeade station' in the Harry Potter films and from which you can hop aboard a steam train and enjoy a traditional ride through breathtaking scenery. If you're a lover of the outdoors you will adore the miles of walking trails that cross over in every direction, right from the doorstep; pick one and see whether you can find one of the several waterfalls in the area including Mallyan Spout, Falling Foss and Thomason Foss.
Handsome grey wood cladding invites you into the spacious open-plan living area, the style of which would not look out of place in a glossy magazine or boutique hotel. There is a large, comfortable sofa and soft snuggly rugs to sink your toes into as you sit by the natural warming of the woodburning stove. The immaculate kitchen features glossy grey units and chunky wooden worktops that are bought to life with pops of well-placed bright accessories. The cooking and dining facilities will be more than enough for the chefs in your group. Just behind the living area is the bedroom, a cosy and welcoming space reminiscent of a boutique hotel. The bathroom features a walk-in shower and complimentary L'Occitane toiletries as well as fluffy robes and slippers for your use.
To the front of the property you'll find a beautifully landscaped garden complete with lawned area and mature planting and to the side is a private patio, with front row seats to the most incredible views imaginable. In addition, guests are welcome to use the private paths around the extensive estate or explore the pretty gardens to the rear of the property which are a real suntrap during the summer months.
In the sweet little shed next door there's plenty of lockable storage for bikes, a washing machine, freezer and BBQ. Extra wellies are provided too if you fancy a hike across the fields without ruining your best boots!
