A 19th-century cottage infusing authentic character with plenty of modern comforts, this property is an idyllic retreat for families looking to spend quality time together.

If your legs ache for rugged swathes of wilderness to explore, this is the place for you. With easy access to moorland, woodland, coast and dale, you can fill your heart and lungs with Yorkshire goodness. Upon your return, pop into the village pub (only 200 yards from your doorstep) and reward yourselves with a refreshing drink and hearty meal. For town adventures, Kirkbymoorside is only 4.5 miles away and has a number of shops, eateries and galleries. A little further away is Helmsley, a moor-side town home to a 900-year-old castle and a 250-year-old walled garden.

Loose your boots in the property's boot room and make your way towards the open-plan living area. Home to a lounge/kitchen/diner, everything your family needs has been lovingly and carefully packaged into this one, spacious area. With grand Yorkshire flagstones underfoot and timeless open beams overhead, the space has lots of charm. For lazy mornings and relaxed evenings, the lounge area comes equipped with a wood burner, a sofa and two armchairs. To make sure everyone is kept entertained, a TV and DVD player are provided, as well as a Bluetooth speaker and Wi-Fi. With many mouths to feed in your gang, the kitchen area will be a family favourite. With an attractive design and plenty of space, you can make use of the three-oven range cooker with ceramic hob, dishwasher and handy wine fridge. For added convenience, there is a utility room with a large fridge/freezer and washer/dryer, as well as a cloakroom with WC next door. Gather around the large dining table and share plates and stories. There is plenty of space for everyone to grab a seat and dig in. A favourite amongst the kids, downstairs is home to the affectionately dubbed ‘Burrow', a snug-like bedroom with TV/DVD and games console, as well as lots of DVDs and toys. At night, the room's day bed can be turned into a full-size single bed. Upstairs are a further two bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and one with a twin, including two full-size singles. Also, upstairs is the family bathroom, where you will find a bath as well as a walk-in shower.

Stepping outside you will come to the property's pride and joy. Ready and waiting year-round, a private, bubbling hot tub with space for up to five adults provides a truly luxurious way to round off the day. As well as the hot tub, the cottage also benefits from a gravelled patio area, complete with outdoor furniture. Children will love playing on the property's lawn, and a range of outdoor games are provided for fun for all the family.

Please note there is a refundable £300 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

We (four girls) had a much needed weekend stay. There were scones, cream and jam with a bottle of Prosecco to welcome us, along with other essentials. It was bliss having no phone signal - being able to switch off completely and unwind. Relaxing in the hot tub and kicking back in front of the log burner watching Netflix. Theres was little to think Read moreabout, towels, bathrobes and a hairdryer were all provided. Even wine, beer and snacks were available to purchase. The perfect winter retreat. Hide

Vine cottage is a lovely, cosy little holiday home. The welcome pack was a nice little touch along with the option to buy snacks and drinks. We really enjoyed our stay & we would like to try other Gorgeous Cottages.
