Attractions include York Minster, The Shambles, Jorvik and Castle Museum. Outside the city there are miles of beautiful walks and cycle trails to enjoy with stunning scenery and plenty of pubs and restaurants in the surrounding towns and villages including Flaxton and Sutton-on-the-Forest (both 9 miles). Heading north, you can visit Castle Howard (12 miles) and Kirkham Abbey (10 miles) which are in the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
