Set in a secluded woodland location by a babbling brook, this stunning property is perfect for a family seeking a tranquil North Yorkshire cottage just a few miles from Scarborough and Whitby.

Situated close to the beach and near a former railway line which is now a stunning walking and cycling route, this is a fabulous base for enjoying idyllic cliff-top, coastal and rural walks with spectacular scenery. The pretty coastal village of Ravenscar (3.5 miles) features a popular restaurant and a delightful rocky beach. The bustling seaside resort of Scarborough (7.5 miles) lies to the south with its wonderful beaches and fantastic range of shops, pubs and amusements for all the family. The historic coastal town of Whitby (15 miles) is to the north, and is known for its lovely beach and famous abbey. Heading inland you can discover the wild beauty of the North York Moors.

On entering this fantastic single-level property, you will find and inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The light and pleasant lounge is a delightful space to unwind in, with a cosy wood burner in a beautiful hearth, TV, DVD and plenty of comfortable seating. There's a welcoming dining area between the lounge and the kitchen. The kitchen is stylishly designed and fully equipped with everything you may need including an oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer. Exploring this charming property further, there are two super-king-size bedrooms, one of which can be made up as a twin room on request. They each have an en-suite shower room with large walk-in shower and WC.

This is a beautiful cottage. Very cosy with underfloor heating and a log fire. The grounds are also lovely and very private. It would be ideal any season. Bed comfy, everything very clean and beautifully furnished.

A lovely holiday property in a great location- secluded but close to walking trails and pubs. Very tastefully decorated and beautifully warm. The hot tub is wonderful - we used it every night.

A very relaxing holiday in peaceful, secluded location. Cottage beautiful and well equipped. Perfect for 2 couples due to layout of cottage. Ideal location for walking/cycling. We locked our bikes in the tractor shed when not in use. If you like to eat out with a drink then you really need to drive which means someone cannot have a drink. We booked the cottage for my wifes birthday and wasnt disappointed, the weather was great 80% of the week so sitting outside on the patio overlooking the beautiful maintained gardens was a bonus. The cottage itself was very well maintained the bedrooms and showers were excellent. I think we will return

The cottage is beautiful and has been tastefully decorated throughout. Its in a great location; theres a pub within walking distance (although torch definitely needed if going at night), picturesque cliff top walks on the doorstep and within driving distance of Scarborough & Robin Hoods Bay. Just returned from a week at Wykewood Cottage and it was simply perfect. The cottage is finished to a very high standard and is stunning, we fell in love immediately. We cycled along the Cinder Track to Scarborough twice, walked to the pub a couple of times, drove to Whitby a couple of times and to York Outlet on a rainy day.
