Set within the heart of Longtown at the foot of the Black Mountains this detached country home has been beautifully finished offering a great base for family and friends to relax.

Well positioned within the heart of the village within walking distance of the local Inn, award winning village store and 12th century Norman Castle. This peaceful part of the National Park offers some of the best walking within the area from your doorstep, explore the Black Mountains and join the Offa’s Dyke pathway where you can follow the ridge all the way across to the Hay Bluff. The perfect base for exploring the market towns of Abergavenny with regular farmers market and food festival, Crickhowell nestled within the Usk Valley and Hay-on-Wye with an eclectic range of book shops all celebrating the book festivals throughout the year. Make the most of the Herefordshire countryside and follow the Great Cider Route or join in the many local produce festivals.

Step under the oak framed porch to remove your boots and step inside, the entrance hall with wooden floors and fresh flowers on the hall table offer a friendly welcome. A large lounge sits to the side of the hall, the wood burner is waiting to be lit and takes centre stage with sofas that you can simply sink into and relax after a day exploring and catch up on your favourite programmes on the TV. A snug is situated to the other side of the hall creating the perfect space for movie night on the TV/DVD or a hideaway with a good book. The kitchen/diner is the hub of this country home with solid wood farmhouse cupboards and well-equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A large table finishes the room, inviting for any special occasion. There is a lobby off the kitchen with space for coats and boots along with a utility room equipped with a washing machine and tumble dryer. There is also a separate WC off the main hallway. So, when the day is done climb the solid wooden staircase to the spacious landing with colourful woollen rugs, you will find three bedrooms. There is a super-king-size enjoying a solid wooden sleigh bed with views onto the lane with an en-suite shower room with WC enjoying views across to the mountain range. Another super-king-size with solid wooden sleigh bed with a dual aspect enjoying great views and an en-suite shower room and WC, and finally a twin zip and link, which can be made into a Super King Size on request).You will be sleeping on high quality vispring mattresses to ensure a good night's. There is also a bathroom with separate shower and WC on this floor.

Step outside and enjoy the views, the home is surrounded by mature gardens and enjoys an open aspect to the front. To the rear a private area where you can soak within the hot tub. There is a patio with seating for six, along with a games room where you can set up your own table tennis tournament or try your luck at table football, this room has French doors opening onto the patio. There is off road parking for three cars.

By far the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed at and we are already arranging to come back. From the location and its beautiful views to the spacious and comfortable inside, we really couldnt have wished for better.

We all agreed with all the other guest comments on the website. The welcome box was fantastic. We didnt need to supply any basics ourselves. The beds were luxurious, the views lovely. This is a fabulous cottage. We were delighted with the high quality of furniture, bedding and especially the bathrooms. The house was immaculate and the welcome pack was lovely. The local pub was very welcoming too and provided us with some tasty meals. We would recommend a stay here to anyone. Janet, John, judie and Chris.

This immaculate property is spotlessly clean and very comfortable. This is a beautiful place to stay very comfortable very clean house where lots of thought has gone in to making it perfect for relaxing ,especially with the hot tub .It meant we didnt need or want to go too far but we did enjoy visiting Abergavenny Hereford and Ross on wye , all within easy driving distance Another bonus was the pub 2 minutes from Read moreyour door. Perfect holiday. Every need thought of, from games room, hot tub, board games numerous DVDs to a tin of homemade cupcakes and a bottle of wine on our arrival. The lanes out of the village to get to any of the main towns are narrow and there are no alternative routes. The views are amazing and its very peaceful. The standard of accommodation here is just amazing and Sally is a wonderful host. We really appreciated all the little extras to make our break even more special. The property is so well equipped and beautifully furnished that we felt at home straight away. The hot tub and games room were a real added bonus. Tri Afon is a clean, comfortable, well appointed house in an absolutely stunning location - the views from every window are incredible. The hot tub and games room were so much fun - we barely left the house all week as it was just so relaxing. Local shop really good, local pub not so much - very dated and food not brilliant. Longtown Castle only a Read more10 min walk away and worth a visit. The property owners are very friendly and helpful and left us a really thoughtful welcome pack. We will return! Hide

This is an extremely well equipped cottage. Every room has lovely views. There are many walks which can be done from the front door. The pub and shop are within easy walking distance. Sainsbury and other supermarkets do food deliveries. There are two very comfortable sitting rooms a large kitchen diner and the owners even put an extra fridge freezeRead morer in the utility room so we had no shortage of cool drinks. We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week break at Tri Afon. The cottage is fantastic, very comfortable and every thing you could think of supplied. I highly recommend Tri Afon. It is a real gem. The house is spacious, comfortable, well equipped and spotlessly clean with an efficient heating system and wood burner. Good Wi-Fi too. We were a family of three generations and found the property ideal for us. The snug allowed the space for the younger children to do their own thing.
