Beyond the village, is the historic market town of Bridport which is within 3 miles. Or take a trip to Weymouth which sits further along the coast 17 miles away, where you can visit the oceanic exhibits of the Jurassic Skyline and the Victorian Nothe Fort harbour along with an abundance of charming seaside shops and eateries. Head just 12.5 miles in the opposite direction to visit the Dinosaurland Fossil Museum and Monmouth Beach in the picture-perfect town of Lyme Regis. If countryside walks are more your thing, you are within easy reach of the East Devon AONB and the rolling Blackdown Hills.

Upon entry, you’ll step into the spacious and light-filled lounge/dining room offering bags of character and traditional cottage charm with its fireplace and colourful soft furnishings. Fire up the traditional wood burner and sink into the sofa for cosy evenings in front of the Smart TV or watch a DVD. A wet room complete with WC is also located on the ground floor. Please note, there is reduced height in the eaves of this room. When the day is done, make your way up the steep cottage-style winding staircase to discover a bright and airy bedroom boasting a king-size bed with reduced head height in the eaves.

To the rear of the cottage, a low doorway leads out to a gently sloping enclosed garden complete with flower beds, fruit trees. Linked by a set of small stone steps is a terraced area where you can start your morning with a coffee as you take in your peaceful surroundings or enjoy a spot of al fresco dining during the warmer months. A very old house that cannot offer the comfort of a new building. But it has a lot of charm. Everything is clean and works. The garden is beautiful. The location is excellent. Pub and village shop are just meters away, the hiking trails and beach are juRead morest a few minutes walk away. We had a wonder stay and lots to see around and about. The cottage is basic but what would you expect of something so quaint and of its' age. Don't expect luxury! Enjoy the locality and the beautiful surroundings it has to offer. Better suited to those not of a certain age!
