Or take a trip to Weymouth which sits further along the coast 17 miles away, where you can visit the oceanic exhibits of the Jurassic Skyline and the Victorian Nothe Fort harbour along with an abundance of charming seaside shops and eateries. Head just 12.5 miles in the opposite direction to visit the Dinosaurland Fossil Museum and Monmouth Beach in the picture-perfect town of Lyme Regis. If countryside walks are more your thing, you are within easy reach of the East Devon AONB and the rolling Blackdown Hills.
