Close to the beautiful 15th-century church in the picturesque town of Beaminster, this cottage is perfect for a family or a couple seeking to enjoy Dorset’s idyllic countryside and stunning coasts.

The lovely town of Beaminster features a choice of great places to eat and drink and is home to the fascinating Beaminster Museum. The Jacobean Mapperton House and Gardens is nearby (2.5 miles), and there are miles of pleasant country walks to enjoy from the doorstep. The thriving Georgian market town of Bridport (6.5 miles) is a lovely town just half a mile from the coast. From Bridport you can explore Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, with glorious sandy beaches including West Bay (8 miles), leading down to Chesil Beach (21 miles). Set in the heart of the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the cottage is also perfect for visiting Lyme Regis, Cerne Abbas and Yeovil (all within 15 miles).

On entering this light and welcoming cottage you will find the brightly decorated and tastefully furnished lounge, which is an ideal space to relax in with plenty of seating, TV/DVD, iPod dock and a gas fire set into the fireplace. Exploring further, a couple of steps lead you down into the attractively designed kitchen/diner which is a lovely space for enjoying a family meal and is fully equipped with an oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. You will also find a ground-floor WC. Going upstairs, there are two cosy bedrooms. The double room has a king-size bed and offers views across to the church. The twin room is set in the eaves of the house and can be made up as a double room with 6’ bed on request. Please note the twin room has a sloping ceiling with reduced height. You will also find a shower room complete with a large walk in shower and WC.

Stepping outside into the small, secluded walled garden, you can sit back and relax in the delightful patio area which has a BBQ and outdoor furniture. The pretty garden also features a charming summer house, raised flower beds and an apple tree.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This was a wonderful cottage, with very welcoming hosts! The cottage was in a very quiet location, was very comfortable, had everything you would need, and a lovely little garden out back to enjoy. While we werent generally able to park outside the cottage, we were able to find parking a short walk away. It was nicely located to get to Dorchester, Read moreYeovil and other locations easily. Extremely well equipped, spotlessly clean property. Across the road from a church but the bells weren't intrusive to us. Friendly and knowledgeable hosts and fantastic welcome package.

One of the best cottages we have ever stayed in. Extremely comfortable and in a peaceful location (but if you don't like to hear the church bells) this may be a drawback. The owners live next door and made us very welcome and friendly, and on arrival left homemade scones and jam and cream.

A cosy cottage which is well situated for the town centre with a short walk to two lovely restaurants, several coffee shops, a delightful bakery, along with independent retailers and a Co-op. The cottage is very welcoming and a lot of thought has gone into it. On arrival there are flowers, home made jams, scones, milk, butter, tea, coffee, even Prosecco and so much more. The bed linen and towels are high quality and luxurious. The cottage was very comfortable, might have felt a bit crowded if there had been four of us, as it was there were only two and the small dog. The cottage was very dog friendly which added to our appeal.

Collier cottage was such a lovely find, it was absolutely gorgeous in a beautiful little town. We had a very generous welcome cream tea, fresh free range eggs homemade preserves, lovely fresh flowers, and everything we needed for a lovely holiday we would definitely recommend staying at this beautiful cottage.

An ideal base for visiting the whole of Dorset, in a beautiful village with excellent amenities surrounded by stunning countryside. The property itself was of a very high standard with a generous array of welcoming local produce.

The weather we had during the week left a lot to be desired, but getting back to such a welcoming cottage after a few hours exposure to the wind & rain, made the whole experience worthwhile.
