Well-designed and furnished cottage provides a comfortable and open space for small families and also couples to enjoy a Dorset coastal retreat away from busy lives.

The exterior of this faithfully restored and renovated barn is beguiling and beautiful, as it is rustic on the outside and luxurious and modern on the inside. The chert and brick work are in line with other similar properties in the area, and from the prime location you have views and access to the dramatic and spellbinding Dorset countryside and coastline.

The front door opens to a centrally positioned open-plan sitting room, kitchen and dining room that feels bigger on the inside than it looks like it might. With classic wooden flooring throughout, two comfortable two-seater sofas and a four-seater dining table, there are plenty of areas to sit and chill or socialise. Though the kitchen area may be small, it is functional and includes the mod-cons and white goods you'd expect. The bedrooms are located at either end of the open plan living space, with the master double bedroom and en-suite accessible via small but quaint steps. The en-suite has a shower over the bath and a basin and toilet. At the other end of the property there is a twin with the second bathroom slightly further along, with a shower and toilet. There is a small utility space at this side of the property with a washing machine.

To the outside of the property, French doors lead to the enclosed terrace and garden area, which has a dramatic look and feel thanks to the different levels, use of paving and well-chosen plants. There is space outside to sit and enjoy the secluded peace and tranquillity. There is also a BBQ for when you want to dine alfresco on those warm summery nights.

A really lovely stone cottage right on the very edge of the village, about twenty minutes brisk walk from the wonderful Charmouth beach. Very smartly presented, with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. Fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Nice hard-landscaped garden with BBQ. Some noise from the A35 and adjacent campsite, but quiet aRead moret night. Parking very tight, would not want to manoeuvre a large SUV in and out. Hide

Damson Tree Cottage was perfect for our family of 4. It is compact but has everything you could possibly need and we loved the log fire! It felt warm, welcoming and cozy and wed definitely return.

Spacious, clean and comfortable cottage. Good equipment, apart from a very hard to open oven door. Nice to have 2 bathrooms and showers were very good and easy to use. Good selection of books and games. We didn't use the 'entertainment system' much as we only watch TV a bit and are not into all the other bells and whistles (if they were there - we Read moredid not investigate). Charmouth is an excellent location though the one track Stonebarrow Lane to get to the cottage was fortunately short, though we only met a couple of cars during our visit. The equipment was sufficient for 2-4 people as was the seating. The wood burner was easy to light (fortunately we had brought firelighters and matches!) and gave out plenty of heat. Due to the warm weather we only needed one net of logs from Morrisons in Bridport. The windy weather meant we did not spend any time in the garden though it was very nice to look out on. Hide

A very well equipped cottage in a lovely quiet area.

Comfortable, well presented, lovely housekeeper. everything you would want in a holiday let. Double bedroom rather small, dodgy going between bed & chest of drawers in middle of night (several bumps incurred), but ensuite very useful, giving each bedroom it's own bathroom.

Beautiful well equipped cottage in a great location. We thoroughly enjoyed our week there and would happily recommend it to friends.
