With magnificent views over the countryside and the sea, this stunning reverse-level property offers wonderful and cosy accommodation for a family seeking an idyllic Dorset retreat.

Built of Purbeck stone, this attractive detached property is set just outside Worth Matravers, a picturesque village with stone cottages and a duck pond. This is an ideal base for exploring the Purbeck Hills, with breathtaking walks in every direction. The coastal path leads to Chapman’s Pool (1.5 miles), Kimmeridge Bay (10 miles) and Lulworth Cove (16 miles). Heading inland, you can explore Lulworth Castle (13.5 miles) or the remains of Corfe Castle (4 miles). This is a fantastic area for nature lovers, with Hartland Moor (6.5 miles) and Studland and Godlingston Heath (7.5 miles) nearby. The Victorian seaside town of Swanage (4.5 miles) is known for its sandy beach, promenade and pier. From Studland, you can travel by ferry to Poole or to Brownsea Island.

A step leads you up into the hallway where there’s plenty of room to leave coats and boots. On the ground floor, you will find a children’s room down three steps with a stone floor, TV/DVD, seating and double doors to the terrace. You will find two cosy twin bedrooms on the ground floor, one with an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC, the other with an en-suite bathroom with WC. Both also have doors leading to the terrace. There’s also a large utility room with a washing machine and a table tennis table. Going upstairs, there’s a spacious, light and tastefully decorated lounge which is an ideal space to relax in, with plenty of seating, TV, iPod dock and a dining area. The lounge opens onto a large balcony with outdoor furniture which is perfect for enjoying a morning coffee while admiring views of the Jurassic coast and countryside. Back inside, you will find a stylishly designed kitchen fully equipped with an oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a charming dining area. Three steps lead up from the lounge to the double bedroom which has an en-suite shower room with shower and WC. Please note, the rooms on the first floor have reduced height in the eaves.

Heading outside, you will find yourself in the large unenclosed mature garden which surrounds the house. There’s a delightful paved and decked enclosed terrace which is perfect for enjoying an al fresco meal and for admiring the breathtaking views. There are miles of walks to enjoy from the doorstep and ample parking available.

The cottage is perfectly situated with the most glorious view. At night it is completely quiet and when the sky is clear there are beautiful views of the stars. The house is well appointed and ideal for families.

Deeply disappointed. Arrived to find the kitchen worktops sticky and needing a clean. An internal bin contained rubbish.
