This charming stunning 18th-century Grade II-listed cottage is full of character and ideally located in the village of Corfe Castle.

Situated close to the bustling centre of Corfe Castle, this beautiful traditional cottage is packed full of style. The immediate vicinity of the property is a quiet idyll yet step a little further away and you are in the centre of the village and near the ruins of Corfe Castle. Corfe Castle was originally constructed in the 11th century by William the Conqueror and has been adapted on many occasions since. During the summer, the Purbeck Film Festival holds movie evenings at the castle which are a spectacular experience. Younger visitors will love the model village, while older visitors who remember the Famous Five books by Enid Blyton might be interested to know that Corfe Castle was the inspiration for Kirrin Castle.

A beautiful stone archway holds the entrance to this cottage and on entering through the stable door into the hall, the period features appear instantly visible. The beautiful flagstone floor is a wonderful addition which extends into the adjoining kitchen/breakfast room. The period features continue with stone walls and an original bread oven in its own inglenook, but this is mixed with appliances befitting a modern-day kitchen. The dining room is reached down two steps and has a wonderful parquet floor and feature fireplace; there are then two steps into the sitting room with continuing parquet flooring, log burner and comfortable furniture to relax in. Up the open-tread carpeted stairs there are three good-sized bedrooms, all with beams and associated reduced ceiling height. The first double bedroom has an en-suite, up three steps, and this is home to a sumptuous roll-top bath and separate shower, WC and basin. The two remaining bedrooms have wonderful views and share a family bathroom with shower over bath, WC and basin.

The front of this property is located on a village lane while the rear has a pretty cottage garden with terrace, shrubbery, trees and blooming flower beds. To fully experience the nature on offer at this property, you should visit the property’s wilder garden a little further up through the main garden.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this characterful and homely property which is well equipped. Corfe is a lovely village with plenty of walks from the doorstep. Corfe Common and Purbeck Ridge to name two. Lots to interest children too. The garden is well tended and spacious for a holiday cottage. We would certainly return.

We loved the space and character of the cottage and it's garden. The steps and steep stairs make this property unsuitable for those with mobility issues. The location was great and parking not too far away.

We loved staying at this perfectly situated cottage. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen equipment was excellent. The garden is beautiful and much larger than appears on the website. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful cottage that exceeded all expectations. Perfectly appointed and equipped with everything you need, lovely furnishings and extra touches made our stay very special. The location couldnt be better, right in the middle of Corfe Castle and opposite the lovely Pink Goat for coffee and snacks/lunch. We were a bit concerned not to have parking oRead moreutside but it wasnt an issue at all and the garden was gorgeous, large, private and well-maintained. Hide

Beautiful cottage located with a view to Corfe Castle. There are low ceilings and beams in places so you do have to mind your head. Garden is spacious and maintained to a high standard but the garden furniture could do with added comfort and lighting. Corfe village is vibrant with great facilities, all four pubs in the village had lovely gardens anRead mored a good standard of food. Studland is just up the road and has 4 fantastic beaches to visit which are all national trust with great facilities. Hide
