It was like stepping back in time! The cottage was beautiful, with a lovely garden and excellent location. Myself, partner and dog spent 5 nights and had a great time. The cottage was very well equipped despite having a very small kitchen; everything was there. The real fire place was a lovely bonus, especially on chilly November evenings. The villRead moreage of Broadmayne has a well equipped village store and lovely pub, The Black Dog, that served excellent food. Highly recommend. Hide

I think it would be helpful if it was made clear in the description that the cottage is not really suitable for anyone who is slightly unsteady. There are many pitfalls for the unwary including needing to climb over the flood defence at the main door to enter the property, the uneven steps and steep stairs. Also, would it be possible to have some sRead morelightly brighter lights in the dining room? Watching the television was difficult as nearly all the seats faced away from it. The cheese grater was broken and quite dangerous. But the beds were very comfortable and there was always plenty of hot water.

A good location for exploring the Dorset coast. Lovely enclosed garden for our dogs, but for a dog friendly cottage rather too many rules. Beware of low door frames if you are 5' 10" or over!!

Great base to visit Dorset from in terms of location, a lovely village to walk with our dog around., lots of fields, woodland and wildlife. This was a lovely character cottage. Very clean. Very cosy. We didnt use the fire because of the toddler but would have been fantastic. Even so it was lovely and warm. The outdoor space was beautiful - we just didnt get chance to use it because of weather. Would definitely recommend

We love the cottage, the interior is well designed by a good carpenter, (the kitchen is built using a 1950s kitchen cabinet as a theme!) The people in the village are friendly, the village shop is very useful. It is a good base for the various coastal attractions. For excersize there is a large field next to it to walk around.
