Surrounded by the beautiful RSPB Stoborough Heath nature reserve, this attractive cottage enjoys a central location for a family looking to explore the Purbeck Hills, Corfe Castle and Lulworth Cove.

Perfectly situated, the cottage is ideal for discovering the Hartland Moor National Nature Reserve and the Purbeck Hills. There are many villages and thriving market towns to discover including Wareham (2 miles), Studland (8.5 miles) and the popular seaside resort of Swanage (9 miles). Swanage is known for its sandy beach and traditional amusements, as well as its pier and promenade. You can also visit Corfe Castle (3.5 miles), Lulworth Cove (9.5 miles) or Kimmeridge (4.5 miles). You can also explore the beautiful Brownsea Island in Poole Harbour, or head a little further afield to the popular coastal towns of Poole (12 miles) and Bournemouth (16.5 miles).

Three steps lead down from the front garden into the cottage. On entering you will find the light, stylish and relaxing open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The lounge is a lovely space with comfortable seating, Smart TV, DVD and Bluetooth speaker. There’s a charming dining area and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you may need including a double oven, hob, dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. Going upstairs there’s a comfortable king-size bedroom on the first floor. The bathroom is also on the first floor, complete with a shower over the bath and a WC. There’s also a separate WC adjacent to the bathroom. Heading up to the second floor you will find a large double aspect bedroom with a super king-size bed which can be made up as a twin room on request. This room has reduced head height in the eaves and lovely views out over the heathland.

The front garden is gated and paved, with planted borders. The back garden is ideal for relaxing in, with a sunny patio, outdoor furniture, BBQ and a large lawn. There’s also an attractive cabin at the bottom of the garden kitted out as a games room with a pool table, table football, a selection of games and some comfortable seating. The back garden has access directly out onto the heath and footpath. Rear vehicle access is possible for storing bikes or kayaks in a separate garden shed. Ample parking is available for two cars on the gravel drive to the front of the cottage.

We love staying at Nightjar, we always feel relaxed and we find it a really good base for exploring Dorset as our favourite places are all in easy reach from here and the cottage is cosy and comfortable to return to after a long day out. Nightjar cottage is a real gem, home from home. Everything you could possibly need and spotlessly clean. A great base to explore Dorset. A lovely really comfortable cottage with everything one needs, including the dog. The location is excellent with many local attractions whatever your preferences, and many good places to eat, although we self catered most of the time. We didnt realise how beautiful this area is and how far that beauty stretches. We will definitely be back.

What a beautifully renovated cottage in a beautiful area. The road is pretty quiet and the beds were comfy so we slept very well. Everywhere was spotlessly clean and everything looks new. We thought this cottage was delightful. It was comfortable, clean and well equipped. Also very dog friendly with a great sized lawned garden. In a quiet location (a tiny bit of traffic passing by occasionally) looking out onto open heath front and back. In a great location for exploring the Isle of Purbeck. I beautifully presented and maintained property with all the amenities and comfort of home. The open plan living, dining and kitchen made for a very social space with a large garden for the dog to run around plus a garden room for games!
