A charming thatched cottage in a pretty village location and within walking distance to the beach and coastal footpaths, this property provides the perfect base for groups of friends or families looking to share an unforgettable adventure.

Located in a country village, this cottage sits alongside a lane running directly down to Seatown beach. Less than 1 mile away, you can walk, cycle or drive down to the beach and leave your car in Seatown car park. Spend lazy afternoons by the shore, taking in views of the beautiful Golden Cap. Or don your walking shoes and head up Langdon Hill less than 1 mile away and reward yourselves with the fantastic views. Upon your return to your home-from-home, pick up your groceries from the village store less than 200 metres from your front door. Within 500 metres you’ll find two pubs, both serving hot food and refreshing drinks or an award-winning pub is within walking distance in Seatown.

Step up through the front door and and into the hallway. From here a door and step to your left takes you into the sitting/dining room, while straight ahead along the hallway, a step up leads to the downstairs shower room, stairs and kitchen. In the split level sitting/dining room, this spacious room is home to a dining table and ample comfy seating. Dotted with original details, the room has a cosy feel and provides plenty of entertainment, with a TV, a radio and a selection of books. Light up the wood burner to warm up winter nights and gather the family around for a film or game of charades. From the lounge area, another door and step up lead you into the kitchen; equipped with a range cooker, a dishwasher, a fridge, a microwave and more, the space is yours to cook up a culinary sensation. Up another small step from the kitchen, there is a spacious sun room with another dining area and a stable door leading out to the garden. Sit in the sun room with a morning coffee or relax for a while with a book in the chair. From the hallway the curved staircase leads up to the property’s three bedrooms which include two doubles (one with an additional single bed) and another with bunk beds. Also upstairs is the second bathroom which has a roll-top bath where you can luxuriate after a day of exploring. A fantastic traditional cottage with some original exposed beams and partially sloping ceilings upstairs.

Heading outside from the sun room at the back of the property is the tiered, landscaped garden. The enclosed garden is a lovely spot to drink in the sunshine from the different levels. Four steps lead up to the patio area where you can relax with a drink or dine al fresco. From the patio, some small steps lead up to a garden bench on the top tier. It also comes equipped with a BBQ and lawn areas. On the opposite side of the street to the cottage, there is dedicated off road parking available for up to two cars.

Nice quaint old cottage with beams. There are multi-levels on the ground floor and the garden which was no problem to us as a family, my husband is over 6' and only hit his head once in the bedroom on a lower beam. We enjoyed a great family holiday at Peter's Finger,an old and comfortable cottage in a beautiful historic village which sorely needs a bypass from the A35. The cottage was well equipped with two fridges and plenty of utensils and china. A beautiful cottage with excellent accommodation. Lovely garden and easy access to beach and loads of local attractions. Have to be careful of the different floor levels especially those with toddlers or if you have mobility problems, but don't let that put you off.

Peters Finger is an excellently located cosy cottage for exploring the Jurassic Coast. It has all the usual amenities, being ideal for a large family group. Its just a 10 minute walk down to the coast at Seatown, where you can either join the SW Coast path, or enjoy an excellent meal &/or drink at the Anchor pub. The cottage was beautiful and immaculate. A big bonus was the secure garden for our cairn terrier and the location was perfect just far enough from the very busy A35 not to hear it. The shop was very useful. The Anchor at Seatown, just down the road, was amazing with wonderful fresh fish on the menu. Blessed with fabulous weather the Chideock cottage was ideal for our needs. 20 mins dog walk via Mill Lane to the pebble beach of Seatown, dog grass exercise area and Anchor pub. This is a gorgeous cottage in a great location. We especially loved the birds nesting and chattering around the cottage! I was concerned about noise from the A35 but the cottage is actually really quiet. Loved walking down to Seatown.

This is our second visit and we still love it and feel very comfortable here. There are four of us (2 adults, kids aged 11 & 15) and a dog and the space works very well for us (although both son and husband are 6'6'' so have to bend their necks in the kitchen ). Cottage itself cosy however,we found the pillows and mattresses very uncomfortable. Potential guests should be made aware that there are different levels to the ground floor that aren't made obvious, would be an issue for anyone with poor eyesight. This is a lovely quirky 17th century thatched cottage. It has a surprising amount of room and all the furnishings relate to the period of the cottage. Location of this cottage wonderful. We were tickled pink to be able to wander down to the beach within fifteen minutes or so. From a dog owning point of view too, the location is superb. Just a short walk down a quiet lane opposite - leads to a large grassy area/park where dogs are permitted. We thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend stay!
