From Weymouth, you can head south to explore the unique Isle of Portland (13.5 miles). Heading inland you could visit Lulworth Castle (13 miles) or the bustling market town of Dorchester (8.5 miles), famous for its links to Thomas Hardy. You can visit Hardy’s home in Dorchester, Max Gate, or his birthplace in Higher Bockhampton (10 miles)
