The lovely villages of Chideock and Seatown are both within a mile and have a great choice of pubs serving meals. There are miles of beautiful walks to enjoy nearby including the coastal footpaths along the stunning Jurassic Coast. Visit the harbour and beach at nearby West Bay, home to Golden Cap. Other beaches within easy reach include Seatown, Eype, Charmouth, Chesil Beach and Hive Beach. There’s plenty to do along these beaches including fossil hunting, crabbing, swimming, fishing and boat trips. The vibrant Georgian market town of Bridport is just 3 miles away and has an abundance of independent shops, pubs, restaurants, regular markets and is known as the gateway to Dorset’s prehistoric Jurassic Coast – a World Heritage Site. Heading inland you can visit Forde Abbey (14 miles), Pilsdon Pen (7.5 miles) and Lewesdon Hill (8 miles).
On entering this light and stylish holiday home, there is an entrance hallway, useful for coats and boots. A half-flight of steps lead you down into the bright and tastefully furnished open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With plenty of attractive seating, the lounge is an ideal space for relaxing in, with a TV/DVD so you can snuggle up and enjoy a movie in the evening. There is also a delightful dining area. Heading over to the kitchen, it is fully equipped with everything you may need including an oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, washing machine and dryer. Heading back up to the entrance hall, a door leads from here into a comfortable bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. A further half-flight of stairs lead you up to a spacious double bedroom which offers beautiful views over the nearby hills. Also on this floor is a a bathroom complete with a shower over the bath and a WC.
Stepping outside you can unwind in the unenclosed patio area where you will find a BBQ, chimenea and outdoor furniture. This leads onto a large lawn which is shared with the other properties on-site and is bordered by a tiny brook. There is also a larger lawn to the side of the barns which is perfect for children’s games. Off-road parking is available for one car. A quiet stroll through local footpaths will lead you down to the beach – and the pub – at Seatown.
