Set just outside the thriving town of Bridport this light, colourful and attractive detached cottage makes a great base for a family seeking to explore the wonderful west coast of Dorset.

This is an ideal base for exploring the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. The beautiful West Bay (1.5 miles) offers a glorious beach and breathtaking cliffs, with Golden Cap (5.5 miles) providing a stunning backdrop. You can pop into the bustling market town of Bridport (1.5 miles) which has a range of great shops, pubs and restaurants. The Dorset coast has numerous wonderful coastal towns and villages, many with delightful beaches, including Eype (2.5 miles), Burton Bradstock (3 miles), Seatown (4.5 miles), Charmouth (8 miles), and Chesil Beach (15.5 miles). Heading inland you could visit landmarks including Forde Abbey (14.5 miles), Eggardon Hill (6.5 miles), Lewesdon Hill (7 miles) and Lambert’s and Coney’s Castle (8.5 miles).

Entering this beautifully converted former coach house via the porch, you can leave coats and boots in the hall and then step into the traditional sitting room which has plenty of comfortable seating and a TV/DVD. From here step into the spacious open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining room. Between the lounge and kitchen is a charming dining area, perfect for sharing a family meal. Heading over to the kitchen you will find it fully equipped with a range oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, washing machine and dryer.  Exploring the ground floor further you can sit back in the charming conservatory which looks out onto the garden. There is also a ground-floor shower room with WC. Going upstairs you will find two bedrooms, one is a super king-size with an en-suite shower room with WC and the other is a king-size. Completing the first floor is a separate shower room with a shower and WC.

Stepping outside, the enclosed garden is largely laid to lawn and features shrubs, trees and a patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ. The garden backs onto the private parkland of the Rectory. Just 100 metres away is a village play-park with a climbing frame, slides and goalposts. Off-road parking is available for one car, with additional roadside parking nearby.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Very spacious, comfortable and private. Best nights sleep ever in the master bedroom. Very well equipped kitchen. Would definitely return if in the area.

This was a lovely cottage with everything provided. Super King comfortable bed, spacious shower cubicles. Kitchen was well equipped with Nespresso machine, filter coffee & cafetire. Dog friendly garden.

Beautiful accommodation very spacious, well equipped and had a lovely garden. Beds were huge and very comfortable. Excellent location in a small village. Lovely walks from the front door, but also only 5 minutes in a car to West Bay. Would definitely stay there again.

There are so many more utensils/equipment in the cottage that are not mentioned in the brochure such as the Nespresso machine, and the amount of baking/cooking equipment is amazing. The position is superb ,if you like walks this is an ideal location with circular and other paths right on your doorstop , west bay is about 45 minutes and Bridport towRead moren about 15 minutes walk. Really could not find fault with anything, was a perfect stay with our dogs Hide
