Situated at the edge of the quiet rural village of Askerswell, this 4-star accommodation is a well-equipped and relaxing retreat from the daily grind.
This property is one of four cottages within a wonderfully renovated and converted Grade II listed barn. The cottage has unadulterated views of the countryside and Askerswell Down. With Bridport and the Jurassic Coast 4 and 5 miles away respectively, there is plenty to see and do here.
Entry to the cottage is via the traditional stable door that leads you directly into the welcoming and homely open-plan dining room and sitting room with exposed oak beams and feature stone work that remind you that you are in a Grade II listed building. As well as the Smart TV, DVD player and Bluetooth speaker system, there is a four-seater extendable dining table and two soft two-seater sofas. Crisp and fresh looking, the room is very bright and this is a theme that carries on into the kitchen. Although small, the kitchen is well-equipped with plenty of storage space, a toaster, microwave, cafetière, gas hob, electric oven, washing machine, fridge and separate freezer. On the first floor there is the double bedroom that would be perfect, small but comfortable, as a master bedroom, a twin single bedroom and a box room for your luggage all with original floor boards and reduced height in the eaves.
A few yards down the lane from the barn is a sizeable garden with a well-maintained lawn, a summerhouse and garden furniture, where you can dine al fresco or just relax on the deck chairs or sun loungers.
