An idyllic location halfway between the pretty seaside town of Colwyn Bay and the beautiful walled city of Chester. The area is steeped in history with lots of things to do, from riding on a steam train, visiting the zoo, sampling culinary delights to an historic castle tour, stroll along the canal, take the horse-drawn canal trip, climb the highest hill in the Clwydian Range or head over to Snowdonia National Park for the ultimate challenge. Visit Mold, with its street market, annual food & drink festival and Theatr Clywd, or the historic towns of Ruthin, Denbigh or Llangollen. Enjoy the cities of Chester and Liverpool or the enviable coastline and stunning mountain ranges in North Wales. This quirky cottage is set in the pretty grounds of the owners home though privacy is assured and is full of period charm, exposed beams, low ceilings, bespoke doorways and creature comforts.

Enter through the back door into the creatively designed kitchen with electric oven and hob, fridge with Ice/Freezer box and microwave with plenty of space to rustle up a meal. The shower room and WC are connected to the kitchen on the ground floor. Walk through the inviting lounge with comfortable chairs, feature fireplace with wood burner and Smart TV  and then round to the lovely dining room with interesting artwork and thoughtful little extras for your stay. From every window you can enjoy rural views in this idyllic location. Enjoy a book and plan your activities with the local guides or listen to the radio. Mind your step as you go up the unique steep and twisting staircase to the first floor where you will find the fabulous king-size bedroom with an adjoining twin bedroom (can only be accessed through the master bedroom) with two single beds and lovely views to wake up to. This peaceful little cottage offers such a lovely home from home experience and is full of pleasant surprises. The private garden has established borders, lawn and patio where you’ll find seating perfect for summer evenings after you’ve spent the day exploring the area.

Outside you will also find the useful old bread shed where the washing machine, tumble dryer and additional storage can be found. There’s parking for two cars and bike storage available. Please note the detached cottage is accessed down a private lane that is not ideal for sports cars.

We had read the previous reviews and were really looking forward to staying at the cottage. We were not disappointed! This is a fantastic holiday cottage, extremely well equipped, incredibly clean, very comfortable and full of character. The Cottage, was a lovely little place , full of olde world charm, the location was secluded and delightful , Kath and Sue made us feel welcome and Kath was particularly helpful , we managed to avoid a big hug from the 'puppy' . This cottage is an absolute gem! It was warm, comfortable and well equipped in a lovely location. Very peaceful with lovely walks straight from the door but also within easy reach of beaches, castles and other attractions including Snowdonia. We had a great holiday, and so did the dog!

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in the lovely cottage. It was well equipped and spotlessly clean. our 2 dogs loved the garden, which was truly "dog friendly" , completely enclosed. The cottage was immaculate and homely and well equipped. The bed so comfortable found it difficult to get up early in the morning to let the dogs out, before feeding them. They settled very well downstairs away from us considering it was the first time in a house and not bungalow. This is a beautiful welsh cottage with a very steep staircase which is fine after you get used to it lovely quite garden we really enjoyed our stay the host we there when you needed them but not intrusive and Ron the dog was so friendly

We spent a lovely week at The Cottage with our dog.It was spotlessly clean & well equipped. What a fabulous cottage this is, beautifully decorated with everything you could possibly need. Stayed here for a week and didn't want for anything. Stunning surroundings with not much but nature sounds, bliss. Came for a Getaway from the hustle of owning a cafe in the lake District and got exactly that, the perfect choice to switch off. What a wonderful holiday, the house was immaculate and the surroundings beautiful. Everything was catered for and we wanted for nothing regarding equipment even a TV with built in DVD. The local pub was five minutes away in the car so eating out was not problem. Certainly on my Go Back Again list.

The cottage is beautifully situated, in a tranquil setting and is well equipped. A lovely welcome pack even included doggy treats. Kath and Sue were very respectful of our request not to interact with our two rescue dogs, and allowed us space, whilst being responsive by email. Beautiful, quirky cottage with lots of character wrapped around by a lovely garden. Close to local amenities and lots of nice walks nearby. There's a lovely beach within half an hours drive too.

Probably the best equipped cottage we have ever stayed in, couldn't fault it. Very quaint, cosy, super contained garden - very safe for both dogs & children. On the edge of a small village, so plenty of owls hooting at night and if you're lucky you might see a visiting fox/badger. Plenty of good walks & sights, Wepre Park, Loggerheads, Flint CastleRead more to name but a few. Super cottage, brilliant location, feels like isolated countryside but a stones throw from proper roads. Spotless, well equipped and cosy. Owners are in the property next door but 100% leave you to get on with it but on hand should you need. Stairs v steep. Very dog friendly but garden is enclosed not secure so so be prepared to lead/longline your Read moredog in the garden. We would love to return here as so much to do in the area.
