Location and lay out of property good, however it is in desperate need of a new toilet - moved every time you sat on it and water was leaking from around the base. Floorboards are more than creaky and if you are in the main bedroom the noise from the bathroom upstairs is really loud. This property is well situated in the centre of Rothbury with local amenities nearby. It is generous in size when compared to the photos and has two double bedrooms (one with extra single bed). The cottage was very well appointed and cosy. It is ideal for both couples and families. We only used the smaller bedroom, and the bed was very comfortable. The location is ideal, both for walks and facilities within Rothbury and as a base for visits further afield. There was ample car parking space near to the cottage. Great village location with super local shops and a lovely italian restaurant with patio heaters just around the corner! A lovely place to stay and explore Northumberland. Rothbury is great if you are looking a rural retreat with all the amenities you need. The house itself, although compact, is comfortable and brilliantly situated in the heart of the village. Claire was a great host - responding quickly to questions and making us feel very welcome.
