This spacious cottage is ideally located in the countryside village of Mellor, on the edge of the Peak District National Park, and provides an excellent base to explore the Peak District, with walks direct from the door. The nearby village and station of Marple Bridge and small town of Marple offer a great selection of shops, restaurants and tourist attractions and a nearby golf course where you can enjoy a one day round of golf. Marple also has a supermarket and a cinema so there is plenty to do. Cycle trails and golf course are also within a few miles from the property. Horse riders are welcome to book a ride/hack in the local stables. Day trips to Alton towers or Chatsworth House are also easily accessible. Manchester is also not to far away by car.
Upon entering the spacious lounge, which provides a comfortable place to relax and catch up with friends and family with sofas and chairs arranged around the cosy multi-fuel stove and TV. The stylish kitchen with two steps down from the lounge is equipped with electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine and fridge/freezer, everything required for holiday dining and to help with the cleaning after, a handy dishwasher. Take a step down in to the sun room with large patio doors and Velux style windows provides additional reading space and a bright dining area with seating for four, also with TV. Take the quirky original steep stairs to the two bedrooms, one master double bedroom with TV and en-suite shower (no WC). The master bedroom has a separate dressing area with a step down to the bed. The property also offers a further double bedroom with beautiful original oak beam as a feature. Finishing the accommodation is the bathroom with roll top bath and WC.
Opening the patio doors, guests can enjoy the countryside views towards the church and enjoy the horses in the field behind from the riding school. Across the road, next to the driveway is an enclosed garden with garden furniture, an ideal spot for al fresco dining. There is also an un-fenced small seasonal stream which runs through the side of the garden. There is off-road parking on the driveway for one car.
