Do NOT be led astray by the simple grey exterior of this chalet - a really lovely, comfortable holiday home in a great location and the best equipped we have stayed in. The location is fabulous - a golden eagle flew up the valley! Great views to MacLeod's Tables, and within easy reach of more beautiful places than we could do justice to! This was the best self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in. It was lavishly equipped and the "welcome pack" unexpected and generous. The owner attended and ensured that we had no problems. We have just returned from an amazing family holiday at An Gleann, Isle of Skye. The accommodation was first class. The lodge was modern, comfortable, tastefully decorated and very well equipped. The standard of cleanliness was exceptional. The Nicholsons were lovely friendly hosts, giving ideas of places to visit etc. and inviting our young grandsRead moreon to help feed the baby lambs which he really enjoyed. Would recommend without hesitation. Isle of Skye is well worth seeing and would return. Hide

The lodge has all a couple or family need for a good base. The website shows all it's comforts and all are good quality. It is in an isolated area so take that into account but it was just what we wanted. Skye is a large island so be prepared for a lot of "interesting" driving to get around all the sights. You can avoid some of the single track roaRead moreds but you will miss much of the scenery. Take large scale O/S maps with you for the best routes. Hide
