The Pavilion, Applethwaite Hall is one of a small number of beautiful apartments in this superbly restored Arts and Crafts masterpiece. Originally built for the Roberts family by the renowned architect Thomas Muirhead, who designed the pavilions at The Oval and Old Trafford, Applethwaite Hall was completed in 1901 and enjoys views over Orrest Head and The Langdales. The Hall sits in its own private gardens bordered by woods and fields where deer and badgers are regularly seen.

There are many miles of walks to be enjoyed using the apartment as your base. The walks are suitable for all fitness levels, including scenic lakeside strolls as well as more challenging hikes and climbs. From the apartment itself you can easily walk across National Trust land to Windemere's most famous viewing point Orrest Head, with its spectacular views of the lake and The Langdales. The vibrant town of Windermere is a 15-20 minute walk from the property and is a great place to enjoy the many cafes, pubs and restaurants or browsing the shops and perhaps stocking up on picnic supplies before spending a day on the water or in the hills. Around the lake there are several places to hire boats and other watercrafts, or to hop on board one of the leisure cruises which run up and down the water at a relaxing pace, allowing visitors to fully appreciate the beautiful surroundings with an abundance of birdlife. Or, if you prefer, bring your bike up for your stay, The Pavilion has secure bike storage.

As you come up the driveway to Applethwaite Hall it really feels like the start of your luxury break away from it all. You will enter the building through the beautiful original wooden front door into the large hall which has photos of the construction of the house over 100 years ago. Follow the hallway around to the left and down the stairs to your large luxury lower ground floor apartment. As soon as you enter this beautiful apartment you are immediately aware of the careful attention to detail and luxury touches made to the property. The outer hallway of the apartment has a space for coats, boots, dog leads and rucksacks, its perfect for those looking to enjoy the Lake District but return to cosy, luxury to relax and stretch tired muscles. The tastefully decorated inner hallway has a reading area and desk, filled with well thought out local books and maps, ideal for planning the day’s activities. Head through to the open-plan well-designed sitting and dining area. The seating area has comfortable sofas and chairs where you can relax together and plan where to explore the following day, or perhaps enjoy catching up with a favourite programme on the Smart TV, or play a game on the PlayStation 4. The dining area is equally well thought out with a glass and oak dining table with seating for four. The kitchen is very well-equipped and designed with Neff electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher, ideal for those days when you don’t feel like eating out. There is also a Nespresso machine for coffee lovers. In the storage cupboard in the hallway you will find a heated airer available to dry wet clothes. There are two bedrooms to choose from, both benefitting from Hypnos beds and mattresses to ensure a truly luxurious and comfortable place to relax and sleep. The first room is a large bright master king-size bedroom with well-designed luxury touches and with beautiful views across the shared gardens of the Hall and towards Windermere. The master bedroom also has handy storage and a large en-suite shower room and WC with Villeroy and Boch fittings. The second large bright bedroom is a great super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom (which can be made up as a twin on request) with Smart TV. Finishing the apartment is an attractively designed bathroom with shower over a bath and WC.

Outside the property you find your own private south facing terrace with a veranda that allows you to enjoy the views even when showery. It is complete with garden furniture, perfect for dining alfresco, or relaxing on the sun lounger, listening to the birds and enjoying the views over the large mature shared gardens of the hall. There are also dog washing facilities found outside and garden games including croquet and jenga. A large shared lawn area and private woodland are also perfect for dogs to run off some steam. There is private parking on site.

The Pavilion is a great base for exploring Windermere, Bowness, Grizedale Forest, lots of National Trust properties and all the Lake District has to offer.
