Chose Alton as a base as we have a rollercoaster mad 12 year old, and found it to be a pretty and charming village (despite the AT traffic at the start and end of each day). The Knot Cottage is very comfortable, clean and well equipped and in a great location. The facilities within the cottage were excellent and it was prepared to a high standard. Unfortunately, parking nearby was 'hit and miss' each day.

We had a wonderful time, the cottage was beautifully presented, spotlessly clean and there were even biscuits and milk on arrival. The cottage is ideally situated; lots of places to explore that were only a short drive away. Highly recommended, and we intend to go back again next year.

Very nice property in a scenic location, great for people wanting peace and long walks. Parking was hit and miss outside the cottage as the cottage is opposite a pub and visitors sometimes parked there. The two pubs were pleasant but very much for the locals. The cottage itself is very comfortable and clean and the master bed is huge.
