Take a break in this cosy cottage with stunning views from the doorstep over the Peak District rolling hills, providing easy access to spend a day at Bakewell, Chatsworth and nearby Matlock.

Set in the Derbyshire Dales on the edge of the Peak District National Park, the farm was once a dairy farm and is now run as a smallholding, standing in five acres with free-range chickens and sheep graze in the surrounding fields. The property occupies a super rural position with fantastic views over the Derwent Valley and surrounding countryside. Ideally situated for exploring the Peak District and the area’s many attractions, with Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and of course Matlock and Matlock Bath. Matlock has a large variety of shops, a launderette, cafes, restaurants, pubs, indoor swimming pool, weekly market and parks. Matlock Bath is a well-known resort on the river with fish and chip shop, cable cars and numerous entertainments.

Taking a few steps down into the courtyard which leads you through to the kitchen/diner, with country style oak units and central oak dining table. The kitchen offers an electric oven and hob, fridge, washing machine and microwave, everything you need to cook a good Sunday dinner after exploring the hills. There is also a handy utility room with tumble dryer and freezer. The lounge is cosy with the focal point being the wood burner which is fantastic on the chilly winter evenings or lazy days spent at home watching the TV/DVD. The sofa does also benefit from being a double sofa bed, that can accommodate two guests. There is a shower room with shower and WC, that completes the ground floor. Upstairs on the first floor, the cottage offers two bedrooms, one double and one twin, both tastefully decorated with pastel tones. Completing the accommodation is the separate WC.

There is a small walled garden to the front of the cottage and to the rear is a lawn area with patio table and chairs and a charcoal BBQ. You could even let the kids run free on the nearby climbing frame. There is off-road parking for two cars.

Lovely cosy cottage, log burner and enclosed garden. Owners were lovely too. Plenty of walks from the front door and no traffic noise or street lights, bliss. Will definitely book again.

We had a lovely weeks stay, owners had kindly made the garden fully enclosed for our dog which was a great help. Our dog, a very protective German Shepherd was at times disturbed by the comings and goings of the close proximity of the owners.
