Beautiful 1600s house with creature comforts and garden, in a village near Church Stretton, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, ideal to relax or as an active holiday base to explore Shropshire.

Set in Little Stretton at the heart of the Shropshire Hills, an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Walk to the Long Mynd, owned and managed by the National Trust with well-maintained paths, bridleways and mountain bike trails. This landscape of rolling hills and river valleys is perfect for walking, cycling, golf and hang gliding to mention just a few of the activities on offer. Enjoy many events and festivals celebrating good food, arts and crafts and music in the area. Visit museums, galleries, Stokesay Castle and National Trust historic houses such as Attingham Park. Or head to the notable towns of Ludlow and Shrewsbury with independent shops and eateries. There’s so much to see and do at this all-year-round destination.

The black and white timbered house is steeped in history and full of character with flagstone floors, exposed beams, high and low ceilings, wooden floors, a quirky staircase and feature fireplace, with all your creature comforts. Enter the snug with plenty of space to hang up your coats and kick off your boots, sit on the sofa and settle into this lovely house. There is also a TV in this room and views over the garden. Continue through into the superb kitchen/diner which is well-equipped with slate work surfaces, electric oven and induction hob, dishwasher, fridge, microwave and washer/dryer, with all the thoughtful little extras. The dining table takes centre stage by the original medieval wall painting, perfect for everyone to gather round, enjoy a meal and spend time together. After dinner, walk through to the lounge with feature fireplace, relax on the sofa, plan your activities or enjoy a good book. For cosy nights in maybe light the wood burner and watch a film on the TV. Also, on the ground floor is the stylish shower room with shower and WC. There are two staircases in the property, one leads to the delightful double bedroom with views over the village towards the hills. The other staircase leads to the two further bedrooms and the stylish bathroom with freestanding bath and WC. There is one bedroom with super-king-size zip-and-link bed (which can be made up as a twin on request) and views over the village, and a cosy double bedroom also with views over the garden.

Outside there is an enclosed garden with established trees, shrubs and lawn. The paved patio with table and chairs is perfect for a morning coffee or al fresco dining, maybe enjoy a charcoal BBQ in the evening. There is roadside parking outside the property for two cars. And a bike rack is in the garden for your bicycles, don’t forget to bring your locks.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Very comfortable and well equipped. With two pubs serving excellent food within easy walking distance . We would certainly visit again.

A quirky old property which has a modern shower room, and kitchen & utility areas. 2 village pubs and walks from the door. Old steep staircases make it unsuitable for young children or people with mobility issues

Wonderfully atmospheric cottage, beautifully restored and upgraded with modern amenities including very comfortable beds. The terrace and garden at the back are perfect for outside eating when the weather's good. Best of all you're in prime walking country, with at least one spectacular (but not too difficult) walk straight out of the front door. A beautiful cottage, with the right mix of old-world charm combined with all the modern conveniences you would want. There was plenty of space in the cottage and the beds were all cosy and comfortable. Little Stretton is wonderfully quiet. It has two pubs, and we tried takeaways from both. Where to start? Firstly for once the property is much bigger than it appears in the photos. The decor is stunning. A period building filled with the most beautiful and quirky items all of which are in keeping. A well stocked kitchen and utility room provide you with all the necessities whilst a few very comfy sofas give you space to relax. The wellRead more laid wood fire is a fabulous bonus. Wonderful old cottage with so much character was a privilege to stay here. Was very warm and welcoming to come back to after days out exploring the Shropshire Hills. The most comfortable beds and a peaceful sleep. Location in the village is great in between two fabulous friendly pubs serving great food. Thank You for a great holiday.

A beautifully restored cottage which is very comfortable. Surrounded by stunning countryside, lovely walks and historic towns. The two local pubs are very welcoming and the food is good.
