Amenities including farm shop, delicatessen, general grocers, post office, several cafes and charming pubs are all close by. There are many walking routes from the village, which is nestled at the entrance to Edale, between Win Hill and Lose Hill. Challenging hills, gentle paths following winding rivers and options to follow the ancient packhorse routes and medieval footways. Explore the local area; the picture postcard village of Castleton with its famed Blue John caverns, Norman Keep and other attractions is nearby. This village boasts six country pubs and several cafes, as well as jewellery and gift shops. Close by is Hathersage, with its Bronte connections, striking moorlands and gritstone ridgelines. Also, the three Derwent reservoirs including Ladybower and its connections with the WWII Dambusters preparations. And, of course the beautiful Chatsworth House estate and the historic village of Eyam. Unusually for the  Peak District Hope benefits from its own railway station on the scenic Sheffield to Manchester line. 

Stepping into the cottage the beautiful lounge welcomes you with open arms, with its own special ambience, boasting a feature stone fireplace with a delightful wood burner. It’s the perfect place to unwind on the comfortable sofa warmed by the glow of the fire and perhaps watching something on the Smart TV. The well thought out kitchen/diner is fully equipped and includes integrated appliances such as an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer and microwave. It is a pleasure to cook or just enjoy a snack and have a drink while sitting at the oak-topped breakfast bar. There are two bedrooms, one with a super-king-sized bed in a bright and airy room. The other is a standard size double in a charming room with unique features. A bright and airy bathroom provides the option of an invigorating shower or relaxing bath, ideal if you like a long soak after a day exploring the glorious peak district.

Outside there is a small courtyard with seating, ideal for a morning coffee or evening drinks. There is free roadside parking outside the cottage.

Lovely well equipped period cottage in a picturesque village. Hotels, pubs,restaurants and cafes close by. Owners live a few doors away and are extremely helpful and friendly. Welcome pack appreciated, particularly the home made lemon drizzle cake. Highly recommended.

Lovely well equipped, comfortable cottage in a great location for walking in the Peaks. The little garden is a sun trap - an added bonus if the weather is fine. Great, helpful hosts who really do care about their visitors. No hesitation in recommending for a peaceful holiday in the Peaks

We have had such a lovely weekend in Bobbin Cottage - it is absolutely what you dream of in a little cottage in the wild hills of the Peak District - warm, cosy, beautifully appointed, and lovingly curated - the owners didn't stop at functionality, the place having a truly personal touch. Everything was immaculate and we didn't want for anything. I'd definately stay here again and again. Excellent location and really well looked after, you can see there is love and care put into the cottage and the energy of the place was lovely. It really felt homely and calm and cosy. An immaculate and spotlessly clean cottage. Louise was very welcoming and gave a thorough explanation of the property. The welcome goodies were much appreciated. Wonderful property set in a great location for walks, amenities and cafes, pubs and restaurants. Property has a well equipped kitchen with good quality appliances, comfy beds and decorated tastefully and elegantly. Hosts were great and really helpful

This is a superb place to stay. expensively equipped, snug and comfortable. Everything has been done to a very high standard and every thing is there to make it a fantastic stay . The peaks are in your doorstep and Louise and Richard are superb hosts. They welcomed us with a hamper of local goodies to get our stay off to a wonderful beginning . Perfect accommodation, everything you need and more. Very comfortable. Great location for local walks up Lose Hill (to Mam Tor) and Win Hill. Train station within 15 minutes walk. We will return.

Had a lovely stay here for a week in February. Great location in the centre of the village, an incredibly well equipped, cosy cottage. Louise goes out of her way to make sure you are well looked after during your stay. The cottage was spotless.
