What could be better in life than waking in your own Laird's house on a 1,200-acre farm, far from the madding crowd on the ravishing west coast of Scotland. Enjoy the sweetest bounties of Loch Fyne at Kilfinan (2.5 miles), Portavadie and Kames (both 6 miles) and Tighnabruaich (8 miles), and explore exclusive boutiques, bars, galleries and restaurants. Learn to paddleboard, kayak or canoe around the secluded coves and beaches of the Cowal Peninsula, take a sea safari and tour around Arran, Rothesay and the Burnt Islands (15/5/6 miles as the crow flies). Discover the eight whisky distilleries of Islay and the remote house on Jura where George Orwell wrote ‘1984' (31/20 miles).

As you approach the house along its 1-mile drive, the thrill will never fade. Renovated to impeccable standards, each room, space and mood is imbued with luxury and romance. Immerse yourself in the lounge's soft wood-panelled sanctuary around a roaring open fire or read in the quiet library, also with a cosy open fire. Prepare a cornucopia of fresh Loch Fyne seafood in the underfloor heated stone-flagged kitchen/diner and feast like lords and ladies on the long dining table, as light pours in through skylights and French doors. Relax in the conservatory and spill out onto the terrace and into the garden for soirees of red wine, BBQs and tales of adventure. Ascend the stone spiral staircase to the two first-floor king-size bedrooms with en-suites, the four-poster en-suite single bedroom, large bunk-bedroom with en-suite and separate shower room. Escape to the second-floor playroom and the final, twin bedroom.

The house is amazing set within a lovely landscape. The tennis courts and games room had lots of use and there are plenty of board games too so lots for everyone. We had an amazing family holiday in this beautiful, well equipped, spacious house. There was plenty of room for us all to move around, sit together and generally relax. We had amazing weather, so spent a lot of time outdoors, but, with the size of the property, with the games room, there would have been enough to do if the weather had been poor. YoRead moreu need to be prepared for how remote it is, and the long track up to it, but come prepared and you will have a superb holiday. Hide

Wonderful house in a rural location with lots of outdoor space. The kitchen, sun room is large and warm, perfect for 7 adults and 2 dogs. We also enjoyed the more formal lounge in the evening for reading and family quizzes and games. The bedrooms were very comfortable and it was a luxury having our own shower room/bathroom. The tennis court and gamRead morees room were ideal for our sport loving family and were well used. The beach is a good dog walk and to walk off all the excess calories! Hide
