The idyllic stone retreat rests on working farmland, overlooking a bubbling stream at the foot of the garden. Just a 1.5-mile walk is the famed Ariundle Oakwood National Nature Reserve, a haven of stunning wildlife and scenery, while country walks and cycle routes abound from your doorstep and beyond the traditional crofting land. Within 19 miles are a kayaking school, Duart Castle with its haunted dungeons, and opportunities for spotting dolphins, whales and eagles on tours of the waters around Mull.

Inside, find the light and bright refurbished interior, showcasing the country-style features of the cottage. Sink into plentyful soft seating in the lounge, lazing in front of the TV/DVD on a rainy evening. The modern country sunroom gives stunning panoramic views, where you can get lost in a good book or plan the day's activities. Cook a family favourite meal in the country-style kitchen with electric cooker, or get the day started over coffee at the breakfast table. Kick off muddy boots in the handy utility room - with separate WC & WHB, washing machine/dryer  - and soak the day away in the modern family bathroom with shower over bath. Retire to one of two cosy rooms; a double with ambient feature fireplace, or the comfy twin room.

Outside, enjoy a spot of al fresco dining or a drink on the bench, taking in the hillside views from the sunny south-facing garden. Or stroll to the bottom of the lawn where mature greenery and wildlife surround a bubbling brook at the foot of this peaceful retreat.

Beautiful cottage in peaceful surroundings. Stunning views through the valley on the road to the cottage from the ferry. Suggest buying a book for ferry crossings to save money. Couple of shops near by for basics. Only criticisms is that usb sockets are needed in this day and age, and WiFi hit and miss due to location.

An amazing fortnight at Braefoot Cottage, if youre looking for somewhere not too far off the beaten track but that has fantastic scenery and walking on the doorstep then this place is for you. Spotlessly clean with everything thing that you need for that well earned break. We were visited in the garden by the three most magnificent deer, 2 girls anRead mored a young fawn, most days and we even got plenty of visits from a pair of elusive but playful Pine Marten. Cafe in Strontian well worth a visit too. Hide

The cottage was clean and tidy on arrival. It is comfortable and spacious and we particularly liked the conservatory. It's only a short walk in to the centre of Stontian and location was a very good base to explore the area. We would highly recommend the cottage.
