Stunning Georgian manor house surrounded by pretty gardens and Scottish scenery. The perfect spot to get the extended family together for a celebration and break from modern life.

For a truly rural stay in the Scottish Highlands, stay in this remarkable Georgian property. Accessible via a driveway from the single-track road that meanders along the coastline between Tarbert and Lochgilphead, where you'll discover a treasure trove of quiet beaches, hidden coves and historical remnants dating back to the bronze age. The grounds of this four-storey home are made up of wild woodland and pretty lawns. Kids will love exploring the surrounding woodland during your stay. Head up to the Hill Loch to fish for resident brown trout, or head across the fields 0.5 mile down to the secluded, sandy beach for some swimming, sunbathing or sea fishing. The nearest pub is an award-winning local just 4 miles away, and the nearest village, Tarbert, is  just 10.5 miles west. Head here for a general shop, art gallery, café and bustling fishing and yacht harbour.

Starting with the ground floor, you will find the first of many rooms in which to relax. The drawing room is home to an open fire and a baby grand piano, ideal for spending time together as a family. This floor offers a formal dining room with large feature windows and a games room with table tennis. One more relaxed living room can be found on this floor, boasting a TV with DVD, perfect to unwind, and another similar lounge is available on the lower ground floor. This one also benefits from a cosy open fire. The heart of the house is its kitchen, where you can find a large fridge/freezer in the larder, an electric double oven and ceramic hob, microwave and a dishwasher. The utility room on this level offers a washing machine, tumble dryer and the perfect space to leave muddy boots. You can enjoy a more relaxed family dining experience by sitting down at the table in the kitchen, warmed throughout by the oil-fired range. Find a cloakroom with WC on the ground floor and a shower room with WC on the lower ground floor.

Via the main hallway, head on up to the first and second floors to find a generous eight bedrooms. The first floor boasts the master, with a super king-size bedroom that benefits from being a zip-and-link bed. This room shares a Jack-and-Jill bathroom with the first single bedroom, which can also be used as a dressing room. Staying on this floor you'll find a single bedroom and a twin bedroom with en-suite. Continuing onto the fourth floor, four twin bedrooms all share a family bathroom with WC and bath, all of which boast stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

This picture-perfect property is surrounded by grounds made up of a large garden and woodland. In Spring and Summer soak up the outdoor atmosphere by dining at the outdoor garden table and enjoy a family BBQ. Within the Estate you'll find a sandy beach located half a mile from the property, accessed via the fields to the front, the perfect spot to picnic and swim.

The house is fabulous - better than we expected. However the heating system contained a few glitches which were not fully resolved despite efforts by the owner.

We booked this out for 13 adults who were going to a wedding in the local area. From start to finish all the staff related to Carse were so helpful and so nice! The house has everything you could possibly need for a short or long term stay, it was spotless. Tarbert, which was a 25 min drive away is the closest town and it's very easy to find from tRead morehere. Could not recommend this house more! Hide
