This stunning castle offers grand rooms, plenty of space and beautiful loch views. It's perfectly placed for exploring Argyll and Bute, and very easy to get to via direct ferry from Glasgow.

If you've always dreamed of being a castle prince or princess, this is the place. Designed in the early 19th century by David Hamilton, who also designed Dunoon Castle, it sleeps an impressive 42 (although smaller parties are welcome). It's surrounded by nature, with ancient woodlands and Holy Loch on the doorstep. Inside, it has a wonderful mix of social spaces, with plenty of room for guests of all ages to enjoy themselves. Nearby activities include walking and cycling on forest trails and sailing on the Firth of Clyde. The village of Hunter's Quay, home to shops and pubs, is 0.5 miles away and Dunoon is 2.5 miles away.

Inside, you'll find ample spacious, elegant accommodation with decorative plasterwork and carved doors. The impressive entrance leads to the front hall, where you'll find an open fire, a grand piano and seating – perfect for welcoming everyone at the start of your trip – and a sweeping double staircase. There are two grand drawing rooms separated by folding doors, which can be made into one superb social space, ideal for parties, with a bar in the larger of the two. A door leads from the drawing rooms into the library, perfect for a peaceful escape. The formal dining room has lots of space for dinners and conversation into the night, while the conservatory offers a more casual dining space. The kitchen is fully equipped for large-scale professional catering, and includes a range cooker, a separate gas hob, two electric ovens and an American fridge/freezer. There is a laundry room in the basement. In total, there are 19 bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms. The ground floor has one double and one triple bedroom. The mezzanine floor has one triple, one quad and one single. The first floor has a double four-poster room, another seven doubles, five twins and one triple room. For entertainment, you'll love the heated indoor pool and the games room complete with snooker table.

Outside, there are huge grounds to explore. The conservatory opens onto a large terrace complete with furniture for outdoor dining and relaxation. There is a children's play area and large lawns surrounded by ancient trees. There is ample parking.

Please note there is a refundable £500 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.
