This cosy romantic getaway on the Isle of Skye''s western point is a rural idyll with breathtaking views over the Scottish mountains. Accessed via a single-track road, this remote holiday let offers soul-soothing accommodation for two.

Experience traditional Scottish cottage life at this beautiful property in Glendale on the Isle of Skye. This magical hideaway is perfectly located for enjoying days out at the island's best spots – head to the striking Neist Point Lighthouse (3 miles) or look around Dunvegan Castle and Gardens (11 miles) or why not head further afield to discover geographical delights such as Old Man of Storr (35 miles). When you're weary from the sea air and new sights, retreat to this welcoming property for quiet nights in before doing it all again tomorrow.

The cottage is vibrant white with thick stone walls, deep-set windows and a prominent chimney. Inside, decorative touches such as paintings, cushions and throws make it feel homely and inviting. The main space has an open-plan layout with a kitchen, dining area and lounge all in one area. Extra light enters through skylights in the roof. There's a gorgeous traditional stone fireplace with a wood burner nestled inside which you can light to keep you both cosy, plus a TV with Sky that you can watch together curled up on the sofa. Take a shower in the bathroom, resting your towel on the heated rail so it's warm when you get out, then retire to the four-poster bedroom for a restorative night's sleep.

Outside, you'll find a seating area overlooking the sea with a picnic bench where you can have lunch on warmer days. There's private parking for your vehicle.

Lovely location . A cosy cottage ,the bathroom was smaller than expected. Not suitable for dogs as no secure place to let them out.

Overall this is a gorgeous traditional and sweet little cottage. The four poster bed has THE most comfortable mattress ever!! Location was fantastic I have never seen such clear night skys with bright stars. Very peaceful and enjoyed holiday. Would recommend visitors looking to cook to bring own utensils as these were poor. Pans were ready for the bin and knives were blunt.

This is a lovely cosy little cottage in a beautiful setting. We were so lucky to have three stags in the grounds beside the cottage when we arrived and we only had one bad day of rain and wind in the week. The tv had a good reception but you had to walk a little from the cottage to get a phone signal. Be aware there is another house let in the grounRead moreds the people who were there the same time as us had two large dogs one of which attacked our dog and bit his ear. Hide

Colquhoune's Byre is a remote peaceful cottage. It has everything you need for 2 people and is a great base to explore the area. We were in a good location for Neist point and the 3 restaurants we wanted to visit. Views all along the single track road were amazing and lots of interesting places to explore.
