Property code: CA085

This unique retreat rests on the shores of a tiny island, 5 miles from the nearest village on Loch Gairloch, offering stunning panoramic views of the north-west Highland sea.

This property offers quirky seclusion in the form of a solitary cabin with trees dotted around, where you traverse the steep path, lined with wooden creatures, to access a bridge above the sea. On arrival at the bridge you will be greeted by the owner, your luggage taken to the property by the owner's boat (along with yourselves if you so choose!) as you embark on a sojourn from the outside world. You can choose to travel further inland to nearby picturesque towns and coastal paths, dine at the local inn or walk at low tide to your neighbouring remote islands taking in the stunning views.

Climb the few steps to the property just metres from the water's edge. Inside, a cosy open-plan living space has all you need for a relaxing stay including ample comfy sofas and TV, and a well-equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking a slap-up meal. An intimate dining space is located in prime position, overlooking the decking and nearby hills. After a satisfying day's exploring, retire to the cosy double bedroom after washing your cares away in the modern shower room.

Outside, recline on the bench and enjoy a firepit BBQ or your favourite tipple, perhaps a dram of whisky, drinking in those unbeateable panoramic views. You can even hire a bicycle or indulge in a spot of canoeing while you wait for the sunset to appear over the nearby hills. On a good day you will spot dolphins or seals frolicking in the waves as boats float serenely by.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

We spent our honeymoon in this outstandingly beautiful setting. Jess and Ian are lovely hosts. Totally on hand if we needed them with advice on where to go when the weather was wet and helped us on our first night as we arrived quite late and had no supplies. The island has breathtaking views and our cabin was just perfect for us to spend together Read moreon our first few days as Husband and wife. Seals and otters came to the island which was a lovely surprise. Amazing place to visit. Hide

We wanted peace and quiet and we got everything we wanted, plus a little bit of adventure too. The floating bridge is interesting when the tide is in, but not a problem at any state of the tide. The views from the cabin are amazing and the wildlife that visits (including seals and otters) make it of interest at any time of the day. The cabin has evRead moreerything you need and its setting within the woodland on the island couldn't be beaten. Wester Ross is a wild area, so don't expect tea rooms every 100 yards, but there are sufficient places to grab a coffee or a lunch, if that's what you want. We will be back! Hide

The area around Badachro and Badachro itself was stunning, even in the rain. Dry Island was an adventure to get to and all part of the experience. Our luggage was taken over in Ian's boat and he helped us with it to the cabin. The view from the cabin......... stunning. Lots of wildlife to see although we didn't see any otters. Peaceful and relaxingRead more. There was a hot tub, which we thought we wouldn't really use, but we did! Sometimes late evening, looking over the bay and watching the tide go in and out. It is totally secluded. We could see across to the local inn, but they could not see us. Badachro inn is just a short walk either by a path skirting the water or by the road. Good atmosphere and very friendly staff/owner. If going for dinner and fond of fresh seafood, go earlier as it ran out pretty quickly when we were there. Lunch was good too. We could sit outside and look over to our island and towards Creel Cabin. The only part you can see, and you really have to look hard, is the fence in front of the hot tub. We went to local beaches and to beaches near Gairloch, which were beautiful, but always keen to get back to our own little paradise. The facilities inside the cabin are perfectly adequate. Lovely patio doors looking out to the sea and the moored yachts. Couch is a bit soft. Ian, Jess and their family were lovely. There if required but happy to leave you in peace. We would love to go back to the Cabin but only wish it was for four people as we have friends who we would love to have shared this wonderful experience with. When leaving, Ian very kindly gave us some squat lobster tails to take home with us. Very yummy! We will be back. Hide

Beautiful location, right at the water's edge. Lots of birdlife and seals in front of the cottage. The accommodation was very good value, but could, possibly, benefit from a little refurbishment. The hot tub was well worth the extra cost and the owner was very pleasant and helpful. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing week, thank you.
