  • Secluded getaway for two on a remote Island by the fishing village of Badachro with private Hot Tub
  • A true escape from the hustle and bustle, surrounded by water on all sides accessed only by a bridge
  • Take a trip on a traditional creel fishing boat with the owner or walk to neighbouring islands at low tide
Property code: CA085

This unique retreat with hot tub rests on the shores of a tiny island, 5 miles from the nearest village on Loch Gairloch, offering stunning panoramic views of the north-west Highland sea.

This property offers quirky seclusion in the form of a solitary cabin with trees dotted around, where you traverse the steep path, lined with wooden creatures, to access a bridge above the sea. On arrival at the bridge you will be greeted by the owner, your luggage taken to the property by the owner's boat (along with yourselves if you so choose!) as you embark on a sojourn from the outside world. You can choose to travel further inland to nearby picturesque towns and coastal paths, dine at the local inn or walk at low tide to your neighbouring remote islands taking in the stunning views.

Climb the few steps to the property just metres from the water's edge. Inside, a cosy open-plan living space has all you need for a relaxing stay including ample comfy sofas and TV, and a well-equipped kitchen, perfect for cooking a slap-up meal. An intimate dining space is located in prime position, overlooking the decking and nearby hills. After a satisfying day's exploring, retire to the cosy double bedroom after washing your cares away in the modern shower room.

Outside, recline on the bench and enjoy a firepit BBQ or your favourite tipple, perhaps a dram of whisky, drinking in those unbeateable panoramic views. You can even hire a bicycle or indulge in a spot of canoeing while you wait for the sunset to appear over the nearby hills. On a good day you will spot dolphins or seals frolicking in the waves as boats float serenely by.

Please note there is a refundable £100 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

The cottage was very cosy and comfortable. It had everything we needed with outstanding views. We sat and watched the tide ebb and flow right in front of us while tracking the antics of the one and only heron and a host of other sea birds and a seal. The hot tub was heavenly with the same views. Ian and Jess were very friendly and relaxed hosts. LoRead morevely people. Hide

We had an enjoyable and relaxing stay on Dry Island, as a nature lover the location is stunning and the list of birds seen from the sofa, including Gannet, Bonxie and Terns was impressive, loved the seals as well, The cabin though small was cosy, the shower was good, the bed comfy and the hot tub relaxing! The facilities were as advertised except nRead moreo washing machine. The walk from the car though picturesque, is tricky, over rugged terrain and you need to be fit to do it. But excellent overall! The location was near perfect. Extremely comfortable, clean and quiet. Matched only by the very best in Scottish hospitality from the owners. A 20 minute walk from the local pub serving good beer and very good food. The wildlife literally on the doorstep was a huge bonus. Incredible setting, ideal place to relax and unwind from everyday life. Be prepared with suitable outdoor clothing and footwear and be well equipped with provisions as the nearest shop is a 15 minute drive. But overall a glorious experince - highly recommended and fabulous stories from Ian.

Wow this location and cabin is amazing. The walk down to the island is a must has it is steep and rough. The views are fantastic and the privacy is great. The hot tub is very welcoming. Can't wait to go back.

Great location and privacy. Loved the hot run with views out over through and harbour. Loved the walk down from the car park over the pontoon - an adventure every time. Wonderful area for runs, walks and visits.

We arrived around 7:00pm and were met at the parking spot by Michelle who guided us by torchlight down the pathway and across the floating bridge to Dry Island which was quite the adventure. On arrival at the cabin, it was immediately homely, warm and cosy. The views out into the bay were breathtaking and the tranquility of the area was for the mosRead moret part undisturbed for the 4 days we stayed. The hot tub provided a warm sanctuary to take in the views. Highly recommended! Hide
