This majestic ground-floor apartment is set beside the spectacular Sound of Kerrera, just 1.5 miles southwest of Oban.

What could be better than waking in your own baronial apartment, far from the madding crowd on the ravishing west coast of Scotland. The name of this sublime old house means ‘Sea Meadow', and gazing out from your rooms, you and your family or friends will see why. Oban, the town dubbed ‘Gateway to the Isles', boasts a plethora of festivals and ceilidhs, attracting bagpipers, Highland dancers, musicians and singers from across the world. Daily boat trips visit the surrounding islands and offer excellent views of seals, dolphins and the occasional whale. Ferries from Oban link with Mull and other islands in the Inner Hebrides. You can tour the ten whisky distilleries of Islay and Jura, and find the secluded cottage where George Orwell wrote 1984. Discover the holy island of Iona, and the moody ruins of Gylen Castle on Kerrera.

This exquisite house epitomises the beauty and true romance of Scotland. Immerse yourself in the baronial majesty of the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with its high ceiling, decorative cornicing and burnished oak floor. Prepare sumptuous local seafood in the state-of-the-art kitchen, and savour unrivalled flavours in the spectacular, turreted dining room, surrounded by sunset views of Kerrera and Oban Bay. As darkness falls, gather with Islay malt around the glowing open fire; reminisce on Oban odysseys of wondrous wildlife and island delights, or plan your next amazing adventure. Jump into a steaming shower before heading to bed; the master king-size bedroom has a wonderful en-suite with walk-in shower, and the former orangery's king-size bedroom has access to a shower room and glorious tall windows for maximising the splendid views from your bed.

Outside is also simply breathtaking. Fling open the French doors to the small, private terraced garden and follow the steps down to the communal garden, shielded by a castellated sea wall. It's simply magnificent and a fine chance in to drink in the sheer raw beauty of Scotland.

Book this apartment! It is fabulous, the views are spectacular. With a really nice stroll in to Oban town. We will definitely return.

Lovely apartment with fantastic views out to sea, Oban and Kerrera. Main living room including kitchen is very spacious, the turret area with dining table was my favourite place to sit and watch the waves. The apartment is tastefully decorated with a comfortable bed and good shower. Only downside is that the boiler is located in the main bedroom anRead mored is quite noisy, but we used the other bedroom instead. Oban itself is a great base to explore the west coast and islands. A beautiful flat, very well equipped and furnished. Lovely quiet situation and gorgeous views. An excellent base for exploring the area and a comfortable retreat for days when the weather isn't so good. There was a nice welcome from the owners and housekeeper.

Very good location, comfortable appartement with amazing views, a perfect retreat when the Scottish weather is at its worst. One little snag, nowhere to stock muddy boots after walks!

We had an excellent stay in this luxurious apartment. Our only suggestion for improvement is that the accommodation is designed for two couples there should be two sets of keys provided instead of one set.
