Excellent location for a gathering of family and friends. Our destination was driven by a deceased relative who was born in Forres, UK. Those who made the trek included immediate members of my family plus friends from Canada (Vancouver & Ottawa), London, Glasgow, China and Portugal, including all grandchildren. Total group of 25 including 8 childreRead moren. Location and setting of the home on Findhorn Bay was more than we imagined from the on-line booking. Truly an exceptional house and location that met all of our needs. The London underground puzzle was a challenge for the best of our team, but we did prevail! I'd recommend someone to take a close look at the wooden dining room furniture....there were at least 2 items in need of repairs, otherwise all other in home services, plumbing, heating, lighting, appliances, ensuite, etc. were largely operational throughout our stay. One radiator in the main hallway did not shut-off 100% and the pot lights in the kitchen would randomly shut-off, but easily restored with the manual switch. Bottom line, should the occasion arise, we would stay at the Elderslie House again! Hide

We go to Scotland every year as a large family, and this has been the best property we have visited. It's location is amazing, there is loads to do in the area, but we hardly went anywhere, as we could just sit out and appreciate the views, the fresh sea air, the great tidal changes, what felt like a micro climate that seemed to exist only in the bRead moreay (we could see it was raining across the water, but it never came over)... the house itself was very user friendly, we felt able to use all of the rooms without fear, and it was big enough that we could all find a quiet spot to read in, or play games loudly without disturbing the sleeping children. I could go on and on! Hide

We had a great week staying at Elderslie house. Stunning setting on the beach and close enough to Findhorn while still feeling very private. The facilities were very good, bedrooms all spacious and lots of room for us all to spread out during the day. Lots to do in the area too

What a location! From the conservatory, you could just sit all day and watch the wildlife in total privacy and warmth! Huge kitchen and dining room - caters for multitudes - straight onto private beach. Dogs loved it, pensioners loved it, kids would love it - I'm sure everyone visiting will have the same feeling. Kitchen lighting was a bit too dim Read moreand that was the only negative comment. After much searching, Elderslie House was chosen as a suitable destination for a family holiday to celebrate my husband's 60th birthday and we could not have asked for a better place. The setting is stunning and as we were incredibly lucky with the weather, we were able to make the most of the garden furniture to enjoy the peace and quiet and amaziRead moreng scenery. Sitting outside in the early morning with a cup of tea and in the evening with a glass of wine, listening to the birds along the shore to a backdrop of beautiful sunrises and sunsets, will remain as a magical memory. We had a wonderful meal at The Kimberley Inn where the staff were very accommodating for our requirements and the cakes in the village bakery and cafe were very special indeed! To balance all the eating and drinking, there are some great walks from the doorstep, cycling along clearly marked cycle routes and plenty of activities in the local area. All in all, a fantastic place for a memorable family holiday. Hide
