Sat in a fantastic location just metres from the beach in the centre of popular Whiting Bay providing a perfect retreat for both couples or families alike.

The property is in an enviable location just 80 metres from Whiting Bay, a great pebble/sand beach which extends for a mile along the coast when the tide is out. Kids will love poking around in rock pools and there's a coffee shop nearby for well-deserved refreshments. As well as coastal walks there are trails inland too – it's about a 3-mile round-trip from Whiting Bay to Glenashdale Falls and on to the Giant's Grave for some spectacular views over Arran and the Holy Isle. If you're intrigued by the island, there are seasonal ferries running from Lamlash, 5 miles away. Further afield, Brodick Castle and Country Park, 10 miles away, is a great day out for everyone.

The bungalow is set on a pretty corner plot, with open sloping gardens and tropical palms waving in the wind. Rooms all lead from a central hallway with space to leave coats, shoes and bags. To the right, the large kitchen has a microwave and a gas hob, plus fridge, freezer, dishwasher and a washer/dryer. To the front of the house, the comfortable living room has an additional sunny conservatory with sofas to enjoy the last evening light, plus a dining table for six. Snuggle up in front of a movie from the extensive collection, or take your pick from the many books. On cold nights, the gas fire is a welcome touch. Both the double and the twin bedroom have their own TV so there will be no squabbles over the remote, and the family bathroom boasts a large corner bath and separate shower cubicle, making getting ready for the day a breeze.

A door from the kitchen opens onto a small patio area, with access to the driveway which is useful for unloading or bringing in sandy kit.

Everything about this cottage was very good, the only downside was the unclean oven. I don't really want to clean up after other people on my holiday! The cottage is spacious, the conservatory a great sun trap.

We love Arran and we have stayed at Grenrof on several occasions. On arrival the bungalow was a lot cleaner than last time and the garden looked a lot neater too. kitchen was very well equipped, living room was very cosy and conservatory was lovely to seat in for my morning cup of tea. Beds were comfortable and clean. The only down side was a blockRead moreage in the bathroom that made the water drain very slowly in the sink, bath and the toilet would get blocked. Someone did come out to have a look put couldn't fix the problem and would have to come back, so I'm assuming it was fixed after we left to go home. Having said this I would definitely stay again and it was just one of those things that happen in anyone's home. I would definitely recommend this holiday let to other people as it's a lovely place to have a nice family break and is situated in a lovely location. Hope to be back there soon. Hide
