Wonderful country home on a working estate where clay pigeon shooting takes place seasonally. Perfectly located to explore St Andrews, Perth and Dundee.

Find plenty to do within walking distance of this country estate, including the Fleecefaulds Meadow Nature Reserve less than half a mile to the rear of the property, and fishing for trout in the small nearby loch. For a rewarding day out, walk the 2.5 miles of country road to get to the local pub. Both amateur and expert walkers can find enjoyable hikes at the Lomond Hills Regional Park (11 miles), and sea views can be found when embarking on the Fife Coastal Path. Keen golfers will love a trip to St Andrews, where you can visit the golf course or visit the British Golf Museum. Tie in a visit to the cathedral and castle ruins in this historic university town. City excursions can be enjoyed in Dundee (17 miles) and Perth (29 miles), where you can enjoy a host of restaurants and bars as well as historic Scottish sites.

Enter the property via the spacious double-height entrance hall with a welcoming wood burner. The reverse-level style of the property ensures you enjoy the best views from your lounge and kitchen, so head straight up to the first floor to enjoy these. The lounge is a cosy space with traditionally Scottish tartan curtains that frame far-reaching views of the surrounding countryside. Settle down in front of the wood burner and enjoy a film on the TV/DVD player. The kitchen is well equipped to feed your party of six, and offers a large range cooker, fridge, freezer and a microwave. Sit down to a casual breakfast in the kitchen, or head into the dining room to enjoy a meal all together. For convenience, there is also a WC on this floor. Downstairs, the utility room offers a washing machine and tumble dryer, and a cloakroom with WC is the ideal space to hang coats and leave boots. You'll find three bedrooms downstairs: two doubles with comfy sofas and armchairs and a spacious twin. The master bedroom boasts French doors leading into the rear garden, as well as an en-suite bathroom with a bath and shower. The second double also boasts its own en-suite bathroom and the twin has an en-suite with a shower over the bath.

The spacious garden features both lawn and patio space with outdoor furniture and BBQ, ideal for entertaining a summer celebration. A small loch can be found on the estate and brown trout can be fished here, and seasonal clay pigeon shooting takes place on the grounds. Private parking can be found to the front of the house.

My wife, our adult daughter, a friend, and I stayed here for a wonderful week. We toured Edinburgh and surrounds from this great retreat. Our host, Maureen, was wonderful, even providing us with fresh eggs. Kate was very helpful with our reservation and logistics. Staying here was a highlight of our week in Scotland.

We had a fabulous stay at this superb house near Cupar. Cannot fault it. It's spacious, homely, grand, warm and the welcome by Lucy was very personal and helpful. The beds are very comfortable, open fire was lovely, the kitchen was well stocked with crockery and pots/pans etc and washing machine and dryer provided. The house is set in stunning scenRead moreery with the only near neighbours being pheasants and a visiting deer. There is a lovely garden area for kids to explore and with a wee lake a few minutes walk down a farm track. Nothing was too much trouble for Lucy and her team - she provided games/jigsaws for my young children, a lovely welcome hamper, and even turned up on our last day, with the gamekeeper in tow, to push our car out of the snow - all done with smiles on their faces!
