The property is really secluded, well finished and well equipped - exactly as advertised. For that part of the world it's just lacking a view. Thanks for having us.

An amazing place to stay if you like peace and quiet, fresh air, mountains, forest and sea. The recently refurbished kitchen, furniture and decor is an improvement but the Jam Factory will always be a special place for us.

We had a great week at The Jam Factory, 28/6/19 to 6/7/19. Could have had better weather, but the accommodation was just right. The cottage is very well equipped with everything that we needed, except perhaps for a lighter weight duvet. The design seemed to have been properly planned, and the cottage had a cared for feel to it. We found it odd thatRead more all the clocks were wrong when we arrived, but we managed to put them all right, so the underfloor heating came on at appropriate times. Perhaps the main switch had been put off at some point? Hide

Facilities were top notch. Plenty walks around and about the estate. The cottage was so warm and cosy with a wood burning stove. Its also dog friendly. The Jam Factory provided a comfortable and peaceful retreat in a beautiful place. The only down sides were: lack of TV lack of frying pan lack of bath (shower only)

The cottage is a peaceful escape from the increasing madness of society today. This was our third late-December visit and it's becoming almost like returning home. The situation of the cottage itself and the idyllic surroundings, are unmatched. Forest walks, a raging river (does this tell you something about late December weather?), and a stunning bRead moreay with distant views to the isles of Skye and Raasay are just 'on your doorstep'. When we were there this last December there was a surprising amount of wildlife around from the amazing selection of feathered friends around the cottage feeders to the seals, otters, eagles, ever present deer (shy and difficult to approach according to a popular documentary series which was based around Applecross some years ago - don't you believe it!) - oh and passing minesweeper ships. We were privileged to be the first incomers following a major revamp of the main room in the cottage. A new three-piece suite, king size bed (with a lovely soft mattress), room decor and kitchen. A word about the latter - there are new state-of-the-art kitchen appliances; dishwasher (which we didn't use), oven with hob, and microwave. We found the hob tricky to use with it's touch controls & very sensitive safety cut-outs, and I found the microwave controls mystifying. As a last resort though, there are operating manuals if you have a spare hour or two. Of course all of the changes were much appreciated, I'm just showing my age here - it's a generational thing! To sum up, we had a wonderful time in a wonderful property and will return to this special place. Hide

Our second visit with hopefully many more to come. Beautiful little cottage with all the amenities you need and none that you don't, i.e no TV, internet or mobile phone signal, fabulous! Warm and comfortable, set in its own secluded grounds you can stay and relax / read when not exploring the amazing local area. We are out every night at the ApplecRead moreross Inn. Outstanding food and just the most friendly and welcoming staff. Great opportunity to meet other travelers or just keep to yourself next to the open wood burning stove. Pet friendly for our little Westie, but doesn't smell of dogs and you'd never know any pet had ever been there before. Can't wait to return. Hide
